Bard's Counter Performance vs. the Suggestion spell

Given "Auditory" is clearly an distinct tag from "Lingual", I had a player frustrated by their Bard being unable to use "Counter Performance" against a Suggestion spell cast on an ally. (As the spells description seems to indicate a verbal 'command' is issued to the target)

Should the spell "Suggestion" have the "Auditory" tag? Are there any examples of lingual effects that are not auditory?

If the omission is intentional, is the Suggestion audible to non-targeted PCs? (i.e. is it Dune "Voice" or more Inception "Subconscious Modification"?) I don't have a good feel for the flavor here.

Thanks in advance for the help!

It definitely seems like an oversight.

Well, it may not be marked as auditory because it doesn't technically need to be auditory. Lip reading, sign language, and telepathy could all let you convey your message without actually speaking out loud.

If you want them to be able to Counterperform it, a reasonable ruling would be that it gains the appropriate trait based on method of communicating the suggestion. Auditory for spoken word, visual for sign language, etc.

While I like @Captain Morgan's suggestion, it feels like more detail that PF2 usually has. Just adding an Auditory tag is a lot easier.

Note that the Lingual trait says: "Effects with the lingual trait are also likely to have the auditory trait". This looks like a simple oversight.

Clearly, you succeeded on your saving throw, or else you'd be all on board. ;)

I dunno that it is necessarily an oversight. Something could totally be lingual and visual instead of auditory, for example.
