Hello,
I'm in a Return of the Runelords game right now and enjoying it immensely, playing with the same group that I played Rise with. I'm playing a witch follower of the Redeemer Queen cult as outlined from the Player's guide. I'm pretty interested in eventually prestiging into the Evangelist prestige class but I was wondering if there was any material upcoming that would provide alternate boons/obediences for Nocticula's Redeemer Queen aspect? Her standard ones seem to be more CE-based. I've been trying to brainstorm my own versions with my DM's assistance and am considering cribbing from the boons granted by the Black Butterfly, which seem to fit the Redeemer Queen's domains of Darkness, Moon, and Outcasts. If anyone can provide guidance or has any suggestions for alternate boons/obediences, I'm all ears.

Bumping because I'd also love to know some Deific Obedience boons, and would this count for Demoniac (she's still technically also a demon, Lamashtu also counts for both Demonic Obedience and Deific Obediences, as well as the Demoniac prestige class and Evangelist/Sentinel/Exalted, and we know that Arushelae retained her Demon subtype when she redeemed all the way to CG).

I doubt we'll get an official answer as anything of this sort is most likely slated for Tyrant's Grasp AP. Not to mention, it is unclear if she has even fully manifested as a CN deity yet, or if that will require some as of yet undefined catalyst, so perhaps she does not yet have boons to grant.
That said, thinking up some custom boons, my goal would be to keep the boons similar to the existing boons, since she is still almost certainly transitional at the point, with tweaks to appeal to her new areas of interests: artists, outcasts, and midnight. Additionally, based on the material in the AP, it seems the Redeemer Queen may be granting visions to her followers to guide them along, so I am adding a little bit of that as well. So, something like this:
1: Vanguard of the Redeemer Queen (Sp): crafter's fortune 3/day, darkness 2/day, or shield of darkness 1/day
2: Instant Blindness (Sp): Three times per day, you can cast quickened blindness/deafness (this one is not changing as it still aligns with midnight/darkness)
3: Destiny's Augur (Sp): Once per day, you can cast Foresight
For Obedience, it's hard to know. This really speaks to personality, and we don't have a good idea how her personality will change. My thinking is that she really seems to be targeted at the goth or outsider stereotype, but specifically one who is creative, and spends their nights toiling alone on their work. Mary Shelley or Edgar Allan Poe perhaps, would be followers. Ergo:
Obedience: Spend at least 1 uninterrupted hour during the night working alone on a creative pursuit, such as writing, painting, or composing. Gain a +4 sacred bonus on saving throws against emotion effects.
Interestingly, "Redeemed" Nocticula's domains share a lot of overlap with Ashava's. Both share Chaos, Darkness, Moon, and Revelry. The way they highlight Ashava alongside Nocticula in the AP is interesting. So that may serve as some inspiration as well. If no one is playing a character aligned with Ashava, you may be able to steal some of her boons.

As of Return of the Runelords, Nocticula is a full-on CN deity. There are no plans at this point to generate a full suite of boons and the like for her, though, so feel free to use ones folks come up with in this thread.
I'm going to be taking some vacation days tomorrow and Friday, and have extra days from Thanksgiving next week, so there's a chance I might get a bee in my bonnet and throw my two cents in on the topic and post what I'd do for her in this thread as well, though, if folks would be interested?

OH DUH!
Thanks Adam, for reminding me!
I wrote her boons already! They'll be appearing in print in the very last Adventure Path for 1st edition, in part six of Tyrant's Grasp.
Whew. Good news for me is that I don't have to write them up for this thread, cause I did them already and got paid for it and they'll be in print. Bad news for the rest of the world is that you'll have to wait until the middle of next year to see them, alas... sorry for the wait!

James Jacobs wrote:As of Return of the Runelords, Nocticula is a full-on CN deity. Will we get the details how this came about? Is that also set for Tyrants Grasp?
Those details unfold over the course of Return of the Runelords, but started back in Wrath of the Righteous. It doesn't feature at all in the plot of Tyrant's Grasp.

James: the entwined súcubi and the AWESOME WotR aside, are there other APs that folks should look into to watch either hints about that transformation, or what was happening in the background to make that come about?
Also: súcubi súcubi súcubi súcubi súcubi wwwwhhhhhhyyyyyyy succubus there we go.
Not really, although there are hints and easter eggs about it all over the place; it's more fun for readers to work together to find them though than it is for me to just say.
