Can oozemorphs be blue? (PFS)

Rules Questions

So I'm trying to make an oozemorph shifter in pfs. Only I wanted to make her like a slimegirl, and they're blue(or some other unusual skin color.) I figured I'd be an undine since they're the only race I can think of that actually has blue skin. The problem being that even if I'm an undine as a race, I don't think fluidic body allows me to turn into... the race I already would be... since undines are native outsiders and not humanoids and the oozemorph faq said you'd need the appropriate spell for a non humanoid oozemorph.

And sadly, I can think of no other pfs legal race that can have blue skin. Well maybe elves can, but that might be considered too similar to a drow even though I don't want to be a drow...

So, Is it at all doable? Preferably at first level? Actually, heck, Since polymorph spells still require a disguise check could I deliberately fail my disguise check and be blue that way?

Samsarans are blue, gnomes can be blue, a lot of the water races like merfolk, sea elves, Tritons etc have blue in their options as well (but im not going into that).

Hm... I'm not sure I wanted the character to be a gnome, but it may be the only Klingon since I don't have a race boon for any of the others.

Though now that I think of it I guess half orc's an okay back up. I was focused on blue but green would be okay. Not ideal though...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Your base race and its color scheme are fairly irrelevant here : you do not need your old pre-ooze body to be blue, because it is gone forever.
You'd just need to shapeshift into a blue/green/orange/whatever race.
There's a few of those, and I don't think the pfs restricts what you can alter self into - though I could be wrong.
You'll look like an average member of said race though, not a goo version.

On the other hand, I certainly hope you can choose the color of the ooze body itself, because a flesh colored blob would be ... disturbing.

PFS specifies what color your skin (or, er, ooze) can be based on race?

Sort of. You can't be a color that the race can't be. Oozemorph makes it a bit weirder.

Where are the allowed colors defined?

There are real world humans right here in mundane old Earth with blue skin. Look up a condition called Argyria, made semi-famous a few years ago by a gentleman named Paul Karason who made some media appearances because of his blue skin.

If it can happen in real life, to a regular human being...you can make your human (Or really any race) PFS character blue. (So long as you don't try to exploit it for some sort of mechanical benefit)

There have been a few similar discussions on the forums over the last couple years. One from way back in 2012 about having a yellow feathered Tengu character, and one from earlier this year (where I was asking about having a Half-Orc with red skin).

The general consensus in both threads was make them whatever color you want, as long as you have a reason/story to go with it, and you don't try to gain some sort of in game advantage from it.

Worst case, swallow a little dye. An ooze should distribute the resulting color all across their body.

There's also the ultimate solution to having your character look like you want. GM Wrath of the Fleshwarped Queen, and you can do absolutely any aesthetic customization you want to the character. It's how I got my vanara to have skin and fur that looks like silver.

Seriously still waiting on this one. IIUC, PFS bases its restrictions on printed rules. I don't recall seeing any rule specifying what color skin characters of a given race can have.
