Palm Object & Steal Object

General Discussion

Hey All, I might just be off but I can't understand the difference between Palming an Object & Stealing an Object. It's probably just me & all but I need help from people smarter than I. Ty

Liberty's Edge

Palming an Object is to hide it while you still have it in hand. In this case you are Hiding and Object, but not necessarily Stealing it.

Stealing an Object is to take an Object from another Creature. In this case you are Stealing the Object, but not necessarily Hiding it.

You Palm a Dagger so a Guard doesn't know you're armed.

You Steal a Dagger from a Guard, he may, or may not notice you doing so and you may or may not succeed.

Thank you. That makes sense to me. You've been a big help. The wording in the book confused me but what you said makes sense. Ty

They ought to use your description in the book example haha.
because I thought Steal was vs person.
and Palm was hiding+taking from a table or "not a sentient thing"

Like you'd palm an apple at the stall or steal the keys off the merchant.

I thought that too but reversed.
