Vigilante (cabalist)

Advice

We have a first time poster/account creator, long time lurker here.

I'm in a campaign where I will never leave one city and there is a cult background to one of the BBEG. I'm a decently experienced RPer but recently my fellow players have taken to both in and out of game just running roughshod over me and speaking for my character, so I'm looking to humble them a little bit and my GM is more than willing to help me because he has had similar problems from them before. I'm interesting in making a vigilante cabalist because it fits within the story and because for all intents, if my understanding is correct, I would appear as a magus when in my social form of a lawful neutral alignment. My goal is ultimately to RP a party betrayal as I reveal my vigilante persona.

Bit of a political and religious intrigue campaign so well within what is allowed. But I've never played a vigilante before and am only looking at fluff.

rolling stats with GM dice so I don't really have a baseline but any advice on how to do this would be appreciated.

Rules of the campaign are as such:

Level 2 starting
No Rite Publishing
3rd party approval needed by GM
Can take a drawback
Can sacrifice 3 traits for a feat
Max HD always

Party to betray currently consists of a Paladin, Urban Ranger, Dandy Ranger, Shadow Oracle

I'm not an expert on the cabalist, but here's some social talents you might want to grab.

Social Grace: +4 to one mental-based skill, then another skill for every 4th level.

Feign Innocence: +10 competence to Bluff checks to convince others of your innocence.

Subjective Truth: Will beat magical lie detectors, such as Discern Lies and Zone of Truth (both spells are on the Oracle/Paladin spell lists).

The Student of Philosophy and Power of Suggestion traits could be real useful.

Student of Philosophy allows you to make Diplomacy/Bluff checks based on your Intelligence, which is pretty handy when you're an Int-based caster.

Power of Suggestion gives you the ability to tell impossible lies with a fixed bluff DC, which makes Sense Motive obsolete.
For example, feeding the paladin a potion of Inflict Serious Wounds while everyone thinks it's a healing potion is possible with a DC 20 check.

Also, I really doubt you can survive the betrayal unless you act through subterfuge. Divide and conquer, as they say.

You don't really appear as a magus at any time as a cabalist vigilante. You have a different spell list, you don't get signature magus abilities; I'm not sure what you could appear as to other PCs, the vigilante class isn't set up to disguise you from such as opposed to from NPCs.
