I was unaware of that particular thread until just now, but I see it offers some good advice. If someone creates a feature based on your advice in that thread, their feature should be perfectly balanced for use with the 5th Edition Background Generator; they could substitute it for one of the existing features in the generator without disrupting anything.

I should also note that the 5th Edition Background Generator can be used to modify existing backgrounds, so you can use it to create a custom background with any background feature published in any source.

Finally had a chance to check it out.

Very well done. I love the background features you've written; they align very well with my guide and recommendations. Looks like both of us came to the same conclusion separately!

The only feature I'm not a fan of in your document is the Resource (Food and Drink). The reason is because multiple background features in the PHB provide the same benefit plus some more. I think that it's too weak by itself, and could use one extra thing to enhance it. Since most of the features in the PHB provide for up to six individuals, perhaps if you're provided for up to 8 individuals, it would compensate for it. The ability to gain a modest lifestyle by scavenging doesn't seem enough, as you're able to gain a modest lifestyle by crafting or practicing a profession. It just needs a little more oomph.

But really, that's a minor thing.

I'll be giving this a five star rating when I write up my review.
