Can you concentrate on a spell more than once in a round?

Skills, Feats, Equipment & Spells

So, a thing came up on a FB thread, and i wanted to get some more feedback on the thought...

there's nothing RAW that i can find that would prevent you from concentrating on the same spell more than once in a round in general...

Does that mean you can cast Spiritual Weapon and concentrate on it 2 or 3 times in a round to make additional attacks with it? the specific wording is: "Each time you Concentrate on the Spell...", while Flaming sphere specifically says "once per round when you concentrate o this spell..."

spiritual weapon takes MAP into account, so i'm not thinking it's terribly unbalanced if you can, but it does make the spell a fair bit cooler

I'm glad you bring this up, because using Spiritual Weapon multiple times in a turn by Concentrating multiple times in a turn is just what one of my player's clerics did the other night. It felt slightly counter-intuitive, but reading through the magic section we couldn't locate anything that would suggest otherwise.
Also, since Concentration is a single action that only requires a spell to be active, it's possible to take two actions to cast a spell and then using the third action to immediately Concentrate on that spell, unless the spell explicitly prohibits that, like Flaming Sphere does (Spiritual Weapon, OTOH, does not).

I thought there WAS language with this, but no, its in the Summoned trait description which says that if you do concentrate on the spell more than once you get no benefits.

Pretty clear you can, and not sure there is problem with RAW not spelling that out.
Whenever there is effect that would benefit from Concentrating more than 1/round,
if they don't want to allow that benefit the rules will say so... There is no general restriction.
Here is another example that shows assumption is you can concentrate multiple times/round on same spell:

Sorceror
VICIOUS CONCENTRATION FEAT 4
When you Concentrate on a Spell that deals damage, one creature of your choice that takes damage from the spell takes an additional 1 damage. If you Concentrate on the Spell a second time, double this additional damage, and if you Concentrate on the Spell a third time, triple this additional damage. This extra damage ends when the spell ends. You cannot deal extra damage in the same round you first cast the spell, and you can deal extra damage in this way only once per round per spell (track damage separately for each casting of an eligible spell).

You can, unless the spell specifically forbids from it (some do).

We ran into it during Pale Mountain, luckily the Cleric and Wizard had Spiritual Weapon and Flaming Sphere out at the same time and we could quickly figure it out.
