Questions about Book II

Carrion Crown

Hey there,

at what point should the PC hit Level 5? I play in my campaign with milestones and its not mentioned anywhere. Just Level 6 at the Schloss

I thought about just before they enter Vorkstags Workshop.

Also when should I my PC players allow them to rest during the process? They will be allnight long out inverstigating I assume...

Any I Idea on i should play Roleplay Kendra? She came from Ragengro to study in Lepidstadt and got a fortune from Adivion as a compensation for Lorrimors "tragic" death. I thougt about letting Vorkstag making false apearences in beginning or a fake hostage situation at the workshop...any ideas?

Thx in advance

They should hit level 5 after the second day of exploration. I would suggest you make that happen before they go to Herstag. That place is literary an hornet's nest, and level 5 characters are more able to endure it, but since this section is sandbox, i would suggest to allow pcs to have 2 days between each tribunal session, to allow the to proper "get in shape" from the debilitating effects of the many encounters they'll make.

About roleplaying Kendra, i would suggest to have her make a statement (of any kind) regarding the beast, or commenting on the atrocities which have been committed near the city. Any statement, which gives your players her viewpoint, and possibly her resentment towards either the beast itself (which is guilty until disproven) or the stupidity of others.

Regarding Vorkstag, he/she/them should be somewhat present in the story before the Pcs discover his plans, yet not be "on the focus". I would suggest to have him as a shopkeeper, or among the public of the tribunal. Maybe he's outbidding the university to getting the beast's corpse! Since he needs the skin of someone to "play the part flawlessly", i would avoid to put Kendra in an hostage situation, but he could well try to divulge false informations about the pcs to have them discredited throught one of his many skins.
