Help!
I cannot understand how this can or cannot work with the change shape ability granted by the feytouched template:
Feytouched Mount: A hooded knight’s mount has the feytouched simple template (see page 10) when he is riding it, but it cannot use its change shape ability while being ridden.
Is there a transition period between riding the mount and it being ridden? Is there something implied about when it can use change shape? Is this a way of saying it cannot change shape?

The Fey-Touched Creature template bestows the following ability.
Special Qualities change shape (a single fixed Small or Medium humanoid form; alter self), woodland stride (as the druid ability).
This allows a fey-touched creature to change shape as specified.
However the Hooded Knight says specifically:
Feytouched Mount A hooded knight’s mount has the feytouched simple template (see page 10) when he is riding it, but it cannot use its change shape ability while being ridden.
This means that the hooded knight's mount has the fey-touched template and all of the benefits of it, including the ability to change shape. However it is not able to use its change shape ability while it is being ridden (by anybody). So if nobody is riding the mount, it can change shape. If somebody is riding the mount, then it cannot change shape.

If nobody is riding the mount it CANNOT shape change, since it only has the template WHILE being ridden by the hooded knight
That's pretty clumsy text. They could simply have said that it gained the feytouched template while being ridden but cannot use change shape, period.
Clearly it is designed for the mount to ready an action to change shape when the Knight mounts it. Since the change shape will activate when the knight mounts (and the mount gains the ability) but will resolve before the triggering action (when the mount is not being ridden.) this will work out just fine.

So yeah, it just can't change shape. Really poor wording choice.
