I making a character for a lv 5 one shot that utilizes smoke as a type of defense. Are there any items that would allow me to see through it for cheap price? any traits or if not, feats?.

Question about the Goz Mask, it's generally agreed that it works with magic fog, smoke, etc, such as obscuring mist, correct?
It looks like the psychic casters are out of luck on that ashen path too.
Goz masks don't specify non-magic only.
There's a trait for kobolds which lets them see thru non-magic smoke (called smoke resistant).
Ifrits get Firesight and Sylphs get Cloud Gazer (which not only allows magic but gives greater benefit if the effect is magic). The Waves Mystery has a revelation that allows you to see through fog and mist and Obscuring Mist is on the Oracle spell list. The Volcano Mystery has a revelation that creates an Obscuring Mist effect that you can see through but doesn't allow you to see through other effects (it's also rounds/Oracle level so unless you were dedicated to Oracle, that might be an issue).
Huh, fogcutting lenses are listed as "Slot face". There's no such slot. Did they mean "head" or "eyes"? I've always assumed they were eye slot items like all the other goggles.

I believe that they were originally in Rise of the Runelords, which was originally a 3.5 product. 3.5 had a face slot.
There is a mythic universal monster ability called mistsight which does exactly what you say. I don't think there are any spells that give that ability though. Maybe make a mythic true seeing that gives you that ability in addition to the normal benefits.
Sorry to break it to you but Fog-Cutting Lenses specify that they work against magical fog and the like, not the Goz Mask that why they have the same price one has a very powerful effect the other has a lesser one and other additionnal effect
The mask says it "allows the wearer to see through fog, smoke, and other obscuring vapors as if they did not exist..." It doesn't specify mundane or magical fog, smoke, etc.
Is the effect created by Obscuring Mist, Pyrotechnics, or Cloudkill a fog, smoke or other obscuring vapor? Then the mask allows you to ignore it.The logic behind your argument makes sense, but the RAW says otherwise. The lense's text is more clearly written, but that doesn't mean the mask's text has the opposite meaning. One says it works on mundane AND magical vapors. The other says it works on ALL vapors. They mean the same thing.
Plus, I'd say 8,000gp is kind of steep for the lense, anyway.
A Bard(Flame Dancer) gets Song of the Fiery Gaze at 3rd, which lets allies see while others don't.
