The new survey asked what new races you want to see in the near future. Which ones did you pick?

Mine where [in order]: tiefling, pixie, skinwalker, centaur, caligni

Orcs Orcs Orcs Orcs Orcs
:D

I can't remember exactly. I picked aasimar and tiefling for sure. Beyond that it was a bunch of animal people, catfolk, etc.

Changelings, Aasimar, Tieflings, Tengu, Ratfolk.

Hobgoblin, Orc, Aasimar, Lizardfolk and Tengu.

I would kind of like to see the most traditional, broadly known ones covered first and then narrow down on their more unique things.

Aasimar, Tiefling, Orc, Kobolds, Changelings.

Pixie. Catfolk. Ratfolk. Aasimar. Don’t remember.

Grippli, Lizardfolk, Vishkanya, Catfolk, Tengu.

Where is Nagaji?

I wonder if they have a separate Tian Xia book planned where all of those things are going to go. I don't remember seeing Kitsune on there either.

I'm pretty sure that Jason and the gang know what ancestry I'd like to see converted. :D

That being said, what I'd REALLY like is to be involved in the project to convert those ancestries to PF2, but I don't know if that's something that'll be open to us contributors. Regardless, I'll keep hoping!

I kind of want some exotics toss in, hence my picking pixie and centaur. While it's nice to have more of the old standard race, I've played most of them and it would be nice to have something new and shiny to play with.

For my more non-exotic picks [tiefling, skinwalker, caligni], I picked ones with multiple heritages so there would be the most variety of options for those races. I have to imagine skinwalker or tiefling will get more numerous and more interesting feats than a catfolk or tengu for instance.

Tiefling, Aasimar, Pixie, Orc, Kobold
No dragonborn or half-dragon on the list :(
(Unless they were there and I didn't recognise the pf1 name for them)

I tended toward races that are different enough that you may want rules for them. Pixie Centaur Minotaur skinwalker and wayang I think.

I would have gone with wyrwood and kitsune as my first two if they had been available. I'm a big fan of shape shifters and constructs.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Centaur, Changeling, Lizardfolk, Minotaur, Orc

Tiefling, Aasimar, Kobold, Tengu, and I don't remember the 5th choice.

Changeling, Skinwalker, Pixie, Orc, and I beleive Kobold.

Have yet to submit it since I want to wait for my group to get further into the playtest, but mine will probably be:

Tiefling, Changeling, Sprite/Pixie, Kobold, Vishkanya

Though admittedly, I'm not sure about the last one since what I'd want to see is Vishkanya which resemble the original mythology rather than PF1's lizardish people.

I didn't even recognize some of them.

Went with changeling, and... some other things. It reminded me how much I dislike the kitchen sink approach to fantasy settings, and I couldn't figure out where half the things (even normal stuff like centaur) were packed into a setting so mapped out and predominantly human.

More seriously

1. Orcs 2. Lizardfolk 3. Kobolds 4. Changelings 5. Tengu

1. Tiefling
2. Aasimars
3. Centaurs
4. Ratfold
5. Orc

These are my favorites, with the exception of Orcs, but they should be in the game as soon as possible as well.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Drow, Drow, Drow, Half-Drow Elves, Half-Drow Half-Human

Oh wait, those weren't options.

I don't completely remember the order, but
Changelings, Aasimars, Tieflings, Orcs, Hobgoblins.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Orc, aasimar, tiefling, kobold, and I landed on duergar for the last one.

But honestly, I want the plane touched races to show up as heritage options, same with the other versions of drow/duergar/dark gnomes.

I'll want the dragon soul back as well, in the same vein.

I prefer expansions on what's core rather than an influx of cultures/ races, but then again I play mostly homebrew and don't care much for Golarion.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Halfling, Half Elves....not those human washed sub races they have in the Playtest...

My real picks were...

Tieflings, Aaimars, catfolk, changelings, and vishkanya...

Though really part of me hope not to see them get butcher like the core races...

Pixie, Catfolk, Nothing Else Matters

Kobold... and maybe Mites. The idea of a blue bobble head riding a giant beetle into battle just brings a smile to my face.

Centaur, Catfolk, Ratfolk and I hope at least two of them get the animal trait so that you can heal them with heal animal.

Tiefling, Changeling, Dhampir, Aasimar, Stryx

Orc, tiefling, and aasimar were a lock for my top three.

I went with centaur & changeling for my other two but caligni, duskwalkers, ghorans, gillmen, hobgoblins, strix, and vishkanya were all in contention.

Out of all the 1e races that weren't on the list, all the planetouched but especially gazni & also shabti would have been high on my list, as would wyrwoods, androids, lashunta, kasatha, and triaxians/ryphorians.

I'm assuming samsarans(would have also been a top contender of mine) are being left off for the same reason nagaji & kitsune(which are two I don't care about), though tengu did make the list so who knows.

Out of creatures that weren't, strictly speaking, player races in 1e(like how centaurs, minotaurs, and sprites/pixies made the list), I would have picked cylopses before any of them, personally.

Changeling, Illumian and Elan because they are all a big part of our world campaign, so guess I will have to Homebrew them when the final version of PF2 is out

From paizo I would say Changeling, Nagaji, Drow (will certainly be a feat), Planetouched (guess Tiefling and Asasimar could be feats too)

Tieflings and Aasimars. (But make sure they are not as broken as the PF1 version)
Pixie just for fun.

Pixie, Ghoran, Tiefling, Centaur, Orc

Ratfolk IN CORE!!!
Dhampir
Gillmen
Fetchling
Lizardfolk

I'd be curious if a Large Hill-Giant or such could work.

EDIT: This isn't really priority, but plane-touched popped into my head,
and that made me think Pos/Neg Elementals are a thing, so are Pos/Neg Planetouched a thing?

My list would probably go along the lines of
1) Aasimar (at which point you may as well balance it with tiefling too I guess)
2) Changeling
3) Samsaran

Aside from those 3(4) I'm pretty open to whatever really.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Kitsune
Tiefling (with various heritages)
Ratfolk
Kobold
Skinwalker

I do admit, I'd love to see a minor cyclops giant PC race. I made one back in 3.5 and I quite enjoyed playing with them. ;)

You know, while this thread is kinda amusing, I'd actually like to see the data in a chart and see what was actually picked.

Is like to see some applied statistics demonstrating where (at least the surveyed portion of) the player base is.

I'm curious where the survey pop stands on things, and if we're even vaguely on the same page.

Grippli, Dhampir, Tengu, Minotaur, and Aasimar.

Grippli - Fun small ancestry. Would add some diversity.

Dhampir - Would like to see this as a heritage option that any ancestry could take. Not just Half Human.

Tengu - Fun med ancestry. Would add some diversity.

Minotaur - The game could use a "strong" med ancestry and this fits the bill nicely.

Aasimar - Would like to see this as a heritage option that any ancestry could take. Not just Half Human.

Liberty's Edge

Orc
Ratfolk
Tengu
Aasimiar
Tiefling

Prinny

A penguin with bat wings, peg legs, a billowing scarf, and a fanny pack. Which season of Digimon is that from?

That's hero prinny.

Seen in Makai Senki Disgaea anime, DLC Character in Disgaea 3, main character in Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? and a special playable character in the PSP version of Phantom Brave. ;)

PS: the scarf, given by Etna, prevents exploding.
PPS: Prinnies are recurring beings in the Disgaea series. Prinnies use machetes as their primary weapons, and occasionally bombs in team attacks. They can also summon a gigantic energy beam known as the "Pringer Beam". They keep their arsenal of weapons and various other items in their pouches. A common trait of the Prinnies is their upbeat attitude, lazy and unintelligent personalities, their signature ballet-like spin, and frequent use of the word "dood" (as an interjection - they constantly end their sentences with "-ssu", a diminutive slang form of "desu" used by 'punk teenagers' in the Japanese dialogue).

Excuse me, there's an error in thread title, the survey asked about ancestries, not races.

Races I would like to see in Pathfinder 2nd edition include: 400m hurdles, 4x100 medley relay, mass start 15km biathlon, 1000m single canoe sprint, and 3000m steeplechase.

"Ancestries" is the PF2 mechanic name for "Races". If we want to discuss things that aren't in PF2, then aren't they still "Races" as they haven't made the move over? Or not. I don't know. I didn't sign off on random name changes.

My guess for Silver is... Pooka?

No error: I meant what I said. Even if there was, has anyone seemed confused?

If you don't want to add what races you put down, that's fine, but I'd appreciate we don't go off on a tangent. This has been a nice thread without bickering and I'd really like to keep it that way. This isn't the 'nitpick on race vs ancestry' thread and if that's a debate you want, please start a new thread on that.
