I have Pnin's wealth at 1675 (the mithral armor set me back to 0)

Add 522 from the current haul brings me to 2197.

I believe your method of splitting the treasure would give Pnin 6000/5 = 1200 gold for a total of 3397 (and this is only if people can actually put up the money, right?)

So Pnin could get the eye's of the eagle or the scroll, but I cannot get both without being in debt.

If the math below is correct and everyone is ok with it, Pnin will happily go into debt. (Does anyone else want the scroll?)

Kiryl, can you check if the math below is correct with your system?

Just to make sure, if Pnin takes a weapon scroll and gets the Eyes of the Eagle, he has spent 4500.

Pnin gets 4000/5 = 800 from the other 3 scrolls putting his current wealth at 2997.

4500 - 2997 = 1503 gp debt, so Pnin owes each player about 300 gp?

I forgot that you splurged on the mithril! :D

Are you saying you have 0 GP to start or the 1675?

Not sure where the 6000 number came from (?) but if you had 1675 plus the 522 then your total 2197 which can be spent. If you had 0, well then you now have 522.

Without regard to anything else, obviously it's not possible for the party to spend GP it doesn't have without regards to who owes whom what. In god we trust, all else bring GP.

The GP for unclaimed magic is just funny money until someone redeems the value or the item is sold.

For the record, Curral phoned in from Carpenteria and would like an armor scroll. He's got tons o' gold, having not spent any yet.

Everything below doesn't take into account taxes. DM, please advise when you get a chance.

Pnin has 2197 after this excursion. I was confident in my ability to add 522 to 1675, lol.

The 6k is the total gp value of the four scrolls. I agree it is funny money until they start to be claimed. (But they all are, unless Idril wants one too . . .).

Curral is paying us off now, so that is +200 for each PC, bringing Pnin to 2397 in actual gp.

How much gp was Kiryl planning on putting in for his scrolls? (Pnin only needs 103 + whatever the tax is, if someone just wants to lend it).

My thinking was that if Pnin gets up to 2500 or more, he buys the eyes of eagle with actual gold and owes the 400 gp to each PC for the scroll.

This is in keeping with the agreement and the roleplaying, right? I don't really see it as funny money, unless I am misunderstanding some aspect. Sorry for my confusion and long-windedness. :-D

For the record, Carpenteria sounds like an in game location to me, so I was confused for a bit.

For purposes of simplifying record keeping, no more taxes.

All your math is making my head hurt.

Upon further-further review, the accounting of shares of GP to include magic distribution is a total rubbish system and the idiot person that suggested it should be soundly flogged. AKA, I'm a history major and this is way more work than I thought it would be. Even the calculus teacher is struggling! :D

That being said, I propose the following:

1. A complete amnesty on any monies owed from previous magic distribution (congratulations Sanrael).
2. A reversion to the historical distribution of magic items and treasure shares: i.e. the party agrees on items being distributed for maximum utility, need, and want and all gold/non-magic treasure is evenly split.

If the party agrees to the above, then each PC (including Sanrael) will receive a distribution of 525 GP (instead of 672).

Pnin takes a +1 weapon scroll
Curral takes a +1 armor scroll
Kiryl takes a +1 armor scroll

One +1 weapon scroll remains to be distributed (either Kiryl or Sanrael is probably best).

Idril
Bracers do not add with Mage Armor because both are Armor bonus.
Ring of protection does add with Mage Armor because the ring is a deflection bonus.
Headband of Charisma is +2, +4 or +6.
The books that raise a stat by +1 cost 27,500.
Wands can be purchased at different caster levels, 1st level Mage Armor is 750 and lasts 1 hour, 2nd level is 1500 and lasts 2 hours, each additional level is another 750 and spell lasts another hour.
Wand formula is spell level x caster level x 750

With sneak attack Pnin/Sanrael are probably a push on DPR. Without, clearly Sanrael.

From optimal utility Kiryl would take the +1 weapon scroll, as he does not use ranged so all his attacks will be with his GS. Kiryl and Sanrael are almost a straight push for DPR, with Kiryl having a 5% edge with power attack.

Pnin is good with Kiryl having both.

That being said, I was thinking with of using the +1 bonus to offset Rapid Shot's -2. Did that factor into Kiry's calculation? My back of the envelope had Pnin at more DPR than Sanrael. Didn't consider Kiryl getting both and too tired to really think it thought.

Again, Pnin is happy with anyone taking it, just want what's best for the party! :-)

The idea was she was silent until she used her abilities in front of everyone.

It might be harder. Kiryl and I might argue that the DPR is highest if he just gets all three, lol.

But I think RPing (and the DM God) would suggest that it's Kiryl, Sanrael, and then Pnin or Curral (as Curral himself said) . . .

That's Pnin's two cents. Any stronger opinions? I am pretty tired of talking about it, and, like Sanrael, won't fight anyone on it.

Not to pick at a wound, but this distribution issue is what Kiryl's money system is designed to clean up.

You can't combine the scrolls. They only work to make a non-magical weapon +1.

IMO it would be Pnin over Curral as far as utility in using the scroll.

I might be missing something here. I thought there were two scrolls each for weapons and armor. Seems as if everyone is arguing over weapon. Is the weapon or armor what you will continue to use throuout the adventure.

Unwanted weigh in by Idril
Kiryl +1 to weapon. Will always use greatsword and can enhance on his own from now on.

Sanreal +1 Breast Plate (best armor for him and already has masterwork GS). Can enhance his breast plate as he advances.

Pnin can benefit from both. Is short bow your best weapon of choice for your Rogue? The Mithril shirt is definitely the best. But Like your power on sneak attacks with bow. +1 Mithril looks pretty good but bow does more damage than Curral.

Curral is a long sword or chain shirt your #1 choice for this adventure?

Noob question: are Catfolk actually a commonly known ferocious race that murders and consumes the innocent?

I am assuming Cael is building an inside joke off of Pnin's earlier encounter with the rando in the wagon. I had a good laugh at it.

But I am not sure it is a joke and I should be RPing differently. Pnin could've eaten the knaves with the wagon scheme.

Catfolk are generally not murderous.

Adaptable and curious, catfolk get along with almost any race that extends reciprocal goodwill. They acclimate easily to halflings, humans, and especially elves. catfolk and elves share a passionate nature, as well as a love of music, dance, and storytelling; elven communities often gently mentor catfolk tribes, though such elves are careful not to act in a patronizing manner toward their feline friends. Gnomes make natural companions for catfolk, as catfolk enjoy gnomes’ strange and obsessive qualities. catfolk are tolerant of kobolds as long as the reptilian beings respect the Catfolk’s boundaries. The feral nature of orcs stirs as much puzzlement as it does revulsion among catfolk, as they don’t understand orcs’ savagery and propensity for self-destruction. Half-orcs, on the other hand, intrigue catfolk, especially those half-orcs who strive to excel beyond the deleterious and hateful nature of their savage kin. catfolk often view goblins and ratfolk as vermin, as they disdain the swarming and pernicious tendencies of those races.

Definitely trying to build on the woodcutters from earlier, but also being cute by riffing on the irony of Pnin having a stereotype of paladins while he has a stereotype of cat-folk.

Never go to a cat-folk rally:

"What do we want?"
"Justice!"
"When do we want it?"
"MEOW!"
