Are the rulebook updates folded into the rulebook at all?

Or do we have to manually find changes in the "what's changed" PDF every time we are trying to make something?

Yes. Re-layouting the book would take too much time, by the time the editors would have the book laid out the new update would be out already. Or even two updates, given how much time does it take to lay out a book this size.

Annotating the rulebook PDF would be a big help.

I'm glad I have a physical book at hand. I'm printing out the errata, and cut and tape the relevant changes to the corresponding pages.

Yeah, it's ugly as heck, but it gets the job done.

(I'm also glad that I got a hardcover in addition to the softcover that has all the errata taped in.)

Ridiculous! We don't need anything more than a plain text update. Take the Screen Reader, update it, let your WP program update the TOC and index, save it as a PDF, and you're done. This would take less time than making the nicely-formatted update document.

This is so easy that I could take the Screen Reader version and do it for my own personal use in a day. At the end I'd have the rulebook in a WP program's format, which is what Paizo already has.
