This shouldn’t be a reaction, either you’re that tough or you aren’t, you don’t react and become tougher. Also, being able to ignore a 100 hp hit seems way over powered. There should be a cap of some sort, at the very least that it won't save you from massive damage of double your maximum hp.
Agreed. A lot of the ancestry feats feel like they're designed to do fun mechanical tricks rather than trying to model the ability they describe in an elegant straightforward way.

The 10th level power HERO’S DEFIANCE is almost as good.
