Disenchantment on Netflix!

Matt Groenig's new animated show Disenchantment landed on Netflix today. It's a medieval fantasy that follows Princess Bean and her two companions (an elf and her personal demon) after she escapes an arranged marriage.

The Netflix format means it's more of a serialized story told in episodes rather than the individual, gag-packed nature of The Simpsons and Futurama. I've watched the first episode and am already hooked. The gags aren't packed as densely as they are in Futurama, but the latter-style of humor is clearly on display in everything from intricate jokes to throwaway gags that you'll miss if you aren't watching or listening closely. There are 10 episodes in the 1st season.

I saw the first three minutes or so, looks fun!

2 episodes in and loving it. Has a nice dark twist to the humor

Watched a few now. WILL watch the rest.

I watched a few last night. It's not Futurama, but it's fun.

Last three episodes are pretty impressive and this first act of the over all story has one heck of an ending.

Looking forward to season 2

Only complaint is cliff hanger ending.

This. I find it’s relatively depressed tone less enjoyable than the twisted but ultimately optimistic Futurama, but it’s interesting and fun enough that I’m into it.

I'm waiting for the plot to pay off. Also I've only seen most of episode one. :p

It has a very different pace and feel from his previous shows. Much of what happens in the first seven episodes is setting the stage for the last three.

And the last three are both hilarious and gut-wrenching. It is new territory for Groening.

It's the Pathfinder to Groening's Futurama-Starfinder.

They won't go to other planets. It's a different story.
