Half-Breed Ancestry

I don't know if this has been brought up elsewhere as I'm having the worst time loading the forums on mobile. I have a recommendation for Paizo regarding the half-races that I hope is already being considered: make it just one general heritage feat, "Half-Breed" or some better name y'all come up with.

Don't make separate feats for each half race, and don't make them exclusively human. Make it a heritage feat a available to all races that let's them pick a second race, add two racial traits of thier choice, and have access to both ancestry lists.

This would be more modular and would allow more half-breeds than the present system does. It would allow gnome-halfling pairings, or address the issue I encountered once when a Beast born Tiefling was producing hiers to her Barony with her favorite Ratfolk. This would keep Paizo from needing to produce new feats for every race and make it much easier to incorporate new races in the future.

I would love to see something similar for plane-touched races as well. Aesmir or Tiefling as a heritage available to any race, to allow actual variation in these races. That other races produce these demi-race is discussed in the material but presently it is only an aesthetic difference. A dwarven aesmir cleric would be as fantastic as a goblin Tiefling Alchemist.

The same could be done with Ifrit, Oread, Undine, and Sylph. This could be an elemental heritage allowing for dwarves with earth-elemental blood or elves with a deep connection to water. Making this a general heritage feat would open up a whole series of new ancestry options and allow players to create thier own combinations.

I love what I'm seeing so far, and would love to see the modular aspects of the system strengthened to let us be as creative as possible with our characters.

Honestly, making a half-breed ancestry would also solve a lot of the problems people have with half elf and half orc as is. You would pick two items from each race similar to how picking the half-elf and half-orc replace two items from the human ancestry. That way you also still get an ancestry feat.

That also would do it, yeah. Maybe even more clean than a heritage feat.
