How do you Polymorph into a Gargoyle?

Rules Questions

Simple question. A Garoyle is a Monstrous Humanoid. I don't see any polymorph spells that let you become a Monstrous Humanoid. Now Alter Self does allow you to become Humanoid, so you could argue that works? But if you do they its a gargoyle that doesn't fly...

Greater Polymorph can't do it. You can only select animal, humanoid, elemental, plant and dragon. So...why is Gargoyle so widely used if it isn't a valid selection? Or is it? Anyone got a good answer?

Monstrous Physique I-IV will do it.

(I for the shape, II for the freeze is generally all you need, I think)

What about the good old Monstrous Physique line ?
Been around since Ultimate Magic, is a favorite of a certain kind of magii, specifically allows you to change into a monstrous humanoid.
Available to most arcane casters and alchemy users.

Edit : and ... Ninja'd. Darn.

Ok, so the caster can become a Gargoyle temporarily. However, it isn't possible to become one permanently or cast a spell to polymorph others into a gargoyle?

I don’t think permanent is possible. The shape changers gift spell may be what you are looking for.

Ah. Shapechanger's Gift is interesting. Thanks!

You might want to seek out a particularly powerful sentinel of Xoveron. ^_^
