Periodic Table Information Of Skymetals

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

has anybody gone about calculating the mass number and grams/mole of the skymetals yet? i dont need them for any reason, i just wanted to see if anyone has gone THAT far yet. lol

Does sufficient information about them exist to extrapolate those?

lol not that im aware of but that doesnt stop peoples nerdom. theyll find a way.

A steel/chrome/titanium alloy is the closest, I think, you can get to an undestructable metal so there goes Adamantite.

For Mythral, pick titanium. Its a light, hard and corrosive resistant metal, just say that the darwen mythral ores are relatively pure Titanium ores.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Now I feel compelled to at some point try to sneak in an alchemist named Ava Gad'ro. :D

Vanadium is extremely strong as well, with a very high melting point.

If by skymetal you meant meteoric metal, that would be nickel-iron in the real-world. Tough and quite strong.

I wouldn't try it though. I'm pretty sure the editors have got your number.

Liberty's Edge

I have not bothered with the sky metals, but I and others have decided that adamantium=iridium and mithril=titanium if that is of interest.

Nope. While I imagine trying to pin down atomic attributes to the 7 skymetals would make for an intriguing exercise, it would be difficult to actually make any real progress. Numbers would end up being purely arbitrary. Like 84. Or 123. Best of luck to those who try though.

What are the 7 skymetals

They're unique "Special Materials" that can be used when creating equipment, similar to Darkwood or Mithral. Adamantine is one of the seven. They're not always used just to make equipment, however, as some of them are more crystalline or happen to be liquid at room temperature; in which cases some of them are also used as additional components to enhance spellcasting and whatnot.

They're detailed in Pathfinder #61 and, currently, are unique to the Golarion setting. They've been mentioned and listed in the Campaign Setting before, as far back as the Second Darkness AP in 2008, but issue 61 is the first time the mechanical properties of all seven have been detailed.

Also, they're from the sky (AKA: Space) and happen to be incredibly rare and very valuable. At least one of them is described in such a way that it can be assumed to be radioactive (Abysium). Though it's not called out as such since very few people on Golarion have knowledge of the strong or weak nuclear forces.

What is pathfinder #61? why can't people simply say in which adventure path for the sake of the gods?

Edit: Sorry. Couldn't resist (Failed my save).

I always figured Mithril = Aluminum. And Drow let theirs oxidize. ;)

Yeah, apologies, sometimes when I speed-type I don't think to write the module name since they're numbered. Bookrat linked to it above but for the sake of breaking tradition:

Issue 61 - The Shattered Star 1 of 6: Shards of Sin

Mithril isn't a Skymetal per Pathfinder lore.

The Skymetals are as follows:

Abysium
Adamantium
Djezet
Horacalcum
Inubrix
Noqual
Siccatite

Dejzet is basically red mercury if that helps.

Bad freelancer! Don't joke if you're not going to do it! (Which in all seriousness, isn't going to happen)

.

If your editor won't let you, just put in a female scientist/alchemist named ($female first name) Ordagova instead...

*ducks for cover*

I was actually thinking Magnesium alloy.
