Cleric Dedication Feat: Does it give Channel Energy?

Skills, Feats, Equipment & Spells

"Choose a deity as you would if you were a cleric. You’re bound by that deity’s anathema."

Does this include the Channel powers normally associated with your deity? I have to assume it does since none of the other feats give it to you but I just want some clarification

Nope. It only gives what it explicitly lays out. Multiclass clerics don't get channel energy at any point. But they still have to be an alignment that deity accepts clerics from, which is what the "choose a deity..." bit means.

I haven't dived into it too much but this seems to make cleric multiclass kinda useless. Why would I choose it over wizard or, in the future, sorcerer for divine spells. Maybe domain powers are better but I'm not sure.

Maybe I'll build some characters for comparison

One of my players is looking at taking ranger with cleric multiclass for chapter 2. He will be worshipping Abadar and take Deadly Simplicity with crossbow. That along with Crossbow Ace means he will be doing 1d12+3 with it. He will also be able to use a wand of healing (level 1) to assist with the healing needs of the party, as well as a couple of cantrips for emergencies.
