This thread is to call out those exceptional GMs that you experienced at Gen Con this year, regardless of system.

I will start by calling out "TheCedic" (Mac Wyman, VA El Dorado Hills, CA)

Thank you for a wonderful game Saturday 8AM at Gen Con.

It was truly a pleasure to sit at a table with a well prepared and entertaining GM at Gen Con. Unfortunately, it is not as common of an experience as it should be. I don't get to play much at the con, so this is a precious thing.

Your table did hold for me one of the best experiences at Gen Con this year... Thorval grappling the Orca. Your expressions first when I said I was going to do it, and then when I succeeded, were priceless!

You challenged us, appropriately, and ran with our shenanigans. Lucky and Thorval had a wonderful time!

Keep up the good work!!

I’m surprised you remember 8am Saturday morning.

2am Sunday morning. Cannot remember his name, but he was from Ohio. Great GM. Very patient with two newer players. I had a great time. Thanks!

You could always check your chronicle sheets?

Had an enormous amount of fun playing 10-00, GMed very well by James Ballod. Specials can very quickly descend into a rushed mess of combat and hurriedly read box text in the hands of a stressed gamemaster, but he kept things fun and engaging.

Jack, may I shout you out? You did a terrific job GMing for all of us in the Starfinder Special: Kyle, Kate, Dennis, James, Allen, Ted and me!

I would also like to shout out a game that came AFTER GenCon. Jen McTeague ran her delightful April Fool’s scenaro, Paizo Unchained. It was the most hilarious game I have ever been in, and she rolled with all sorts of weirdness from us, and then gave it back. It was EXCELLENT.

Hmm

Just a reminder, this is a place for recognizing good GMs. If you experienced a negative experience, please do not share it here as it creates a lot of hurt feelings and very often is nothing more than a simple misunderstanding. Please send those reports to the genconleads@gmail.com address so the organizing committee can look into the details and take appropriate action. Thx

Thank you, Bob! We want this to be a happy thread!

Out of curiousity, will we have GenCon feedback threads again this year?

Thank you very much! It always helps having a cool table with a variety of characters and players.

We weren’t planning on it. If you want to create threads to call out good experiences, that’s certainly fine, but we would like to avoid a lot of Grrr on the messageboards so are directing everyone to send their feedback to the genconleads email address. That is our “official” feedback system outside of the new cards used on site.

This year was the first time I ran specials. I had a great table for Solstice Scar!

My Sunday morning table of 10-01 was quite good. Our GM (Andrew I think - from the UK) was engaging and entertaining. Thanks for a well run table!

Mac is indeed an amazing GM!

I have to second Hilary in thanking Jack and Jen for the excellent games! I also have to thank Hilary for the post-Con run of Save the Renkrodas! I didn't do any post-Con gaming last year, but you're right, it is a lot of fun.

Thanks to Heather Vigil for the best time I've had in a Starfinder game, which was incidentally the special and her first time ever running a Starfinder scenario. I'm not a huge fan of the game and got roped into by my friends, but I had a great deal of fun during it.

My players: "Hmmm, look like I was GM'd by... undecipherable squiggle? I mean, does that even qualify as a legal signature?"

I spent the entire time GMing, but I would like to give props to my players - I had some fantastic people join me for both 10-00 and several rounds of 10-01!

For better or worse, you will always be able to identify chronicles I have signed, thanks to my blue stamp.

There is also your PFS# which can be used to identify the GM. At Gen Con if you really want to know and have the slot#, scenario name, and table# I can tell you who the GM was

This is why I print my name.

For the second year in a row, I was lucky to have Ryan Blomquist of MN as a GM for my subtier 10-11 table of a GenCon special. Ryan's preparation and mastery of game rules is outstanding, but what we appreciate and remember most is that we can have fun while also having reasonable chances to succeed at high level. Putting up with my hijinks while keeping us on time and task is no mean feat, but Ryan pulls it off with a smile. Thanks, Ryan!

Glad to haveAlan Kaekel as my GM twice! Still kinda sad that none of my characters died to him so I could get a pin. Maybe next year!
