RECRUITMENT NOW OPEN for Eberron - Echoes of the Past

A Sharn based campaign.

This will be a Pathfinder game.

Eberron Pathfinder Conversion

Builds:
Starting at 3rd Level.
Traditional Eberron Races are (obviously) allowed.
25 Point Buy.
We are using Background skills.
Max HP at 1st Level. Roll or 1/2+1 HD thereafter.

If you wish to use a supplement just ask.
Yes Psionic Characters are welcome (Ultimate Psionics).

A brief Background 2 paragraphs max is fine.
Two Traits (from any book including Campaign Traits unless they are tied to the core of that Campaign and would make little sense here).

You may take a single Drawback to gain another Trait.

Each character will receive a bonus Feat of their own choice over and above the base level 1 Feat which must be selected at character creation.

I will use a Hero Point system of my own devising.

Starting with 4,000 GP.

Current party consist of an Elven fighter, a Warforged Fighter/Investigator, a Human Wilder.

Recruitment will be open until August 17.

I am Recruiting for 2 Slots.

RECRUITMENT OPEN FOR ILL MET IN KARTAKASS - A 5E RAVENLOFT CAMPAIGN

6th Level

Stat Generation: 4d6 drop lowest 6 times, if you roll appallingly you can do 27 point buy as per the PHB.

Races: Let's keep it basic, the residents of Ravenloft are a superstitious bunch, they don't like their monsters right up in their faces...

Feats and Variant Humans are both allowed.

Setting: The Domain of Kartakass (for now)

Gear: As a 6th level character.

Background: You can be a Ravenloft Native OR a resident of any other world who wandered in through the mists.

Firearms:
Renaissance Firearms & explosives are available, but rare, and are treated as Martial Ranged Weapons, stats in the DMG p268. Note that when you run out of ammmo it may be some time before you can re-up your supply so be prudent.

Recruitment will close once I have two or three PC's. First come first serve this time around.

Dotting as usual

Scarab Sages

Dotting for Eberron. I've never played in the setting, so let's do it! I'll probably rollup a Vitalist or a cryptic. Is the investigator good for traps or would the party prefer some mad healz?

The healer AND the trap finder have both had to withdraw from the current game so the group could use both.

The Chess wrote:

Sweet, hopefully we can get you back into a game :-)

Scarab Sages

What's the tone of that game? Comic, dark, goofy? I'd hate to make something that didn't jive with the established feel.

Due to starts and stops since inception (not to mention revolving PCs and its interaction with another established table) the thread tone has been really a bit more matter of fact without much RP as of late. Of the characters left I'd say that the Wilder has a sense of humor, the Warforged Investigator has a robotic cadence with an edge towards a bit of goofiness, and the Elven warrior is fairly grim.

Dotting, cuz ya never know!!

Scarab Sages

Right now tinkering with a Warforged Cryptic. Small of size, big of personality!

Depending on how a couple other recruitments go, I might like to submit a (rather amusing) barbarian for one of those two :3

Or maybe a cleric I've been wanting to try out xD

Dotting as well!

Does that mean what I think it means? :)

Also, Big E has Trapfinding, so no one should feel obliged.

Heh, yep it does, a level is coming your way once this delve is completed.

Hmm. I have an idea for a Minotaur Life Shaman. Looks like the group could use a healer.

I realized I've already made the character I was thinking of for another one of your games, so I think I'll just convert her for this one instead.

Shadow, would you mind using the Skinwalker in place of the Eberron Shifter?

They're similar, and the Skinwalker is better supported by Paizo stuff.

Ok. :-)

I’d be down for playing a warforged in the Eberron game. An Aegis (Aberrant) could be fun: a warforged who tinkers with his own form, gradually improving himself over time.

D&D 2e Al Qadim

Sounds good.

Scarab Sages

This submission is just not coming together for me. I think I'll bow out. Thanks!

I've been working on this Life Shaman as well for the Eberron game... changeling fortune teller... Animist archetype. I'll have it wrapped up today or tomorrow.

What if I've never played 5E and have only ever heard of the name Ravenloft?

If you have the 5E players guide and can make a PC fine by me 5E is fairly easy to pick up:-)

Scarab Sages

4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 6) = 14 - 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 6) = 16 - 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 4) = 12 - 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 3) = 18 - 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 1) = 10 - 9
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 6) = 18 - 15

That's... really spread out. I'll see what I can do. I'm gong to see if I can borrow the book from a friend.

Since there seems to be a scarce of Ravenlofters here, let's see how Tymora likes me...

4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 1) = 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 5) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 5) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 5) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 1) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 2) = 12

or 27 point buy, who knows. What classes are already in game?

A Warlock. A Wizard. A Paladin/Warlock. A Cleric.

Probably another frontliner or a rogue or even another cleric would be helpful but as this is first come first serve, the first two completed submissions are in no matter what they choose to play :-)

Scarab Sages

Right now trying out an Arcane Trickster Rogue.

Great!

I'll have Aerin converted and leveled up on monday night. Her basic concept and mechanics will remain as they currently are.

Scarab Sages

So, I wrote up the entire stat block, then Paizo ate it. *grrrr*. I'll get it done asap, but it can't be tonight.

Will be a Forrest Gnome Arcane Trickster Rogue who is suddenly Very out of his natural element.

I don't generally use it in my PC builds but I'm not against it :-)

Scarab Sages

Here's my crunch. Working on fleshing out the fluff now. Is there anything special about the setting I should know about before submitting?

Aerin is done save for equipment.

There's a bunch of stuff about Ebberon gods that I'll need to ask about, but that can wait.

I'll take a look on Wednesday evening Choon. Hopefully I'll get one more submission before I insert you into Gameplay.

I'm on it! I'm just deciding between fighter and barbarian (and accepting that my rolls sucked and will need to point buy).

Is there still room for one more in that Eberron game? :3
If so, is there any reason for a treasure hunter to end up near the party? xD

I have only two submissions for Eberron so far but there are still 3 days to get a submission in for my consideration.

Certainly the latest adventure by the remaining party would pique a treasure hunters interest. :-)

sorry the backstory ended up as three paragraphs instead of two ^^;
I did try not to get into too much detail a few times to make it shorter, but I think it also made it a little awkward in a couple of place <.<;

Will get crunch together soonish ^^

Frank Engel’s backstory:

Frank grew up the son of a carpenter, in a small trade town where Bards and other adventurers would occasionally stop by and share tales of their travels. Growing up on a steady diet of valorous deeds, little Frank got his dad to help him make a clunky suit of wooden armor to play in. Eventually Frank came of age; he was finally able to go out and have a real adventure. Frank, however, was more gifted with in the arcane arts than he was with burglary or spelunking. He needed a partner. After a few weeks of searching, Azalea showed up in town, and she found him. She thought he could help her raid an old crypt that was supposedly guarded by magic.

They got along all too well, and became lovers during the long trip to the mountain cliffs that the crypt was dug into. They also made a good team, Frank could conjure distractions for the occasional wild beast they encountered, and he could help Azalea find magical traps, while she took care to disarm them as well as the more mundane devices. All was going well until they came to a particularly impressive door near the back of the crypt. She... failed to disarm one of the more lethal devices. She didn't appear injured, but something had sucked the life right out of her. Frank tried to take her corpse and what few valuables they found outside of that vault back to town. He thought he might have enough to buy her life back.

The cleric back in town told him that he not only didn't have enough cash, but he had taken too long to get back to town. Frank didn't give up, though. He could bring forth all sorts of creatures with his magic, why not Azalea too? Frank devised a ritual where he would get extraplanar help to bring her back, but something went wrong. Instead of Azalea, Frank got Broulnindre. Somehow Azalea's spirit had fused with the outsider's, and Broulnindre was born. Frank and Broulnindre have been treasure hunting together ever since, unsure of whether or not they should risk un-fusing Broulnindre.

On the other hand, Shoadow, if you remember we were playing a Ravenloft game not so long ago. I was a sorcerer, 5th level, and you were a fighter. Is that okay if I bring that one in? It's easier since the background is already done and everything.

Vaguely but easy works for me, just post with that Avatar here so I can check it out.

** spoiler omitted **...

No worries one extra paragraph I can handle.

This was the sorcerer, and you were Victor Whatever IIRC. Either this or a Dwarf Fighter will be it, depends on if it rains tomorrow.

here is Frank E:
the legend, the treasure hunter, the man of iron! (lol initials)

And here's a link to Broulnindre the eidolon

Both aliases are slightly reused xD

About the crunchy bits: Frank will be able to throw Grease and summoned monsters around in combat, using his heavy crossbow when the team has the advantage (or to annoy people from 1200 feet away, because why wouldn't you?)

Broulnindre will be mostly a scout (and she can disable non-magical traps), picking up lots of Skilled evolutions to help with non-combat stuff.

I have had a concept for a Ebberron character for years..

A female Elven artifice who is kinda of nerd and obsessed with knowledge of all kinda..,

I will crelate the character tomorrow...

BAh, I seem to be having a class crisis, don't really know what to play. All slots seem to be covered, nothing strikes me as relevant enough. A pity, not capitalising on a chance to play 6th level directly with SS, none other.
