With the death of "take a level of x" in character advancement, classes should have nicer things at earlier levels.

For example, the Ranger in the playtest only gains Trackless Step at 5th level.
Considering how incredibly situational it is, yet also how incredibly thematic it is, it should be a 1st level class feature rather than 5th.

Nature's Edge at 9th level? Again, it's thematic, but not really a "9th level" benefit. Bump it down to 5th, it's not like a Rogue can just dip Ranger and Sneak Attack everything that sets foot in vaguely defined shrubbery.

Yes, but I say go wilder.

Stuff like giving Fighters an extra action they can use to Strike, stuff like allowing Monks a reaction to parry and strike back from 1st level on.

I think Paizo needs to be bolder in setting out class thematics, power and identity with fun features.

Multiclass archetypes are one of the more experimental parts of the Pathfinder Playtest. So much so that there are only four of them in the book....

Pretty sure they wrote classes under the expectation that they might have to fall back to something much more like traditional multiclassing after the playtest.

Keep in mind that the expected goal of 2nd edition is to drag out levels more in a regular campaign.

So when an adventure may have ended at level 12 before, now the same adventure reaches 16.

If you get all the good stuff earlier, then that makes higher levels more pointless.

Hmm I wonder if the old style of multiclassing could still make a comeback I feel like with the current class design this is the best system yet for doing it.
