Story Background

Doomsday Dawn Game Master Feedback

This is more of a comment related to the story background. There is a reference to a fallen starship.

Please leave technology and starships with Starfinder. It pulls me out of the world of Golarion and I really want to like the new set up.

Thank you and so far the rules are fantastic.

I believe we first referred to a crashed starship in Pathfinder more than 10 years ago.

Technology and starships have been a part of Golarion since day one; the reference to the fallen starship is a reference to the Iron Gods Adventure Path and the nation of Numeria. That's not something we're going to change in 2nd edition, but as in 1st edition, it's not going to be something we do a lot.

That said... thanks for checking the rules and adventure out! Have fun with the playtest!

Thanks for clarifying for me. I am not as versed in Golarion as I am others out there (obviously). Still a rich setting and the rules look streamlined yet crunchy enough to be versatile and good.

I can't wait to get into it.

Sorry about that I didn't realize. I am still looking forward to getting into the playtest and module... Who knows, I may warm up to the idea... a decade or so later.

No problem, and welcome to Golarion! :-)

One of our primary goals in creating the setting, by the way, was to have a fusion of all sorts of different themes to different regions, be they horror or classic fantasy or swashbuckling or Arabian Nights inspired or Viking themed or, in this case, a mix of sci-fi and fantasy. This in theory allowed those who played in the setting the ability to pick and choose what nations and regions to set their own games while downplaying the regions that didn't sit well with them.
