Several orders (including 5296584) mischarged

This message was previously sent as an email, in reference to VC subscription orders for ACG that were mischarged.

On orders:

4184957 (4.35)
4900159 (4.85)
5113601 (4.85)
5205386 (4.85)
5296584 (4.85)

On all of these, the order total is $0.00, yet I am getting charged for it. It was my understanding that I was not supposed to be charged for this subscription.It sort of looks like this would be the shipping price, but it clearly shows no shipping on the order.

What is really odd is that I was charged in spite of the order total being $0.00.

However, on orders

4011760
4757013

I was charged nothing (which I understand was correct).

I would greatly appreciate this being corrected.

Hello Jack,

I took a look at all of the orders you specified, and I could not find a completed transaction on any of these orders. Were these orders actually charged and taken from your bank account, or are they just displaying as though they have costs? They are all marked as completed on my end, which means they will not be processed for any charges they are displaying.

Please let me know if I am misunderstanding the situation. I will bring it to the attention of others to see if we can identify the issue. Thank you!

Hi Jack,

Just wanted to chime in here to letcha know what we think is going on. It looks like these orders were trying to use store credit because your subscription is set to use store credit automatically if any is available. It's a little strange, since this is your complimentary VC subscription, but I believe it may be because it's basically a converted regular subscription.

I'm documenting things to let our tech team know about this, but in the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and uncheck that preference from your account. That should stop confusing your orders, I believe. I've gone through the orders you listed above and given them a nudge so that they should be displaying correctly now.

I did observe my balance decreasing, which is what keyed me in to the problem

Hello Silbeg,

Your free subscription orders should no longer have store credit applied to them in the future. We have corrected this issue. I have ensured that your store credit was not actually being charged, and I have removed any store credit from being promised to any of your free orders.

As the store credit was trying to apply to orders, it would affect the available amount on your account. Now that we have removed the store credit from those orders, that amount should now be available to you as normal.
