Do you keep up with ammo in your pbp games?

I don't know if it is the accountant in me, but I feel like keeping up with ammunition in games is important. To me, ranged combat has several advantages, and the risk of running out of ammunition is one of the minor balances. Plus, I think arrows are like charges for bows.

Am I being too picky?

Unless you want to keep track of everyone else's ammo, I'd just ask the players to keep track of their own and then just trust them to do it. Keeping track of all players' consumables is a chore and not worth it. Unless it becomes glaringly obvious that the player has been using way more than he probably had on him/her, I wouldn't bother much further.

You can buy enough arrows to last a whole campaign with just the "cost of living" income PCs are assumed to get (like 10 gp a day). Not worth it except for unique or special material ammo.
