Multiple Mutagen Discoveries

Rules Questions

Hello all!

I'm looking at making an alchemist that has the Feral Mutagen discovery as well as the Bone-Spike Mutagen discovery. I can't find any reason, and boy howdy have I looked, for these two discoveries to not work in conjunction with each other. In fact, I feel like when the class says

"Discoveries that modify bombs that are marked with an asterisk (*) do not stack. Only one such discovery can be applied to an individual bomb."

that since it doesn't mention mutagen discoveries, they should be allowed since they considered mutagen discovery stacking. However, when I go to get my mutagens in Hero Lab (an admittedly not perfect program, but one that's right I feel more often than it's wrong) I can only select one or the other.

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I've been looking but haven't found anything either way.

Seems it should work just fine; neither Discovery actually changes the Mutagen itself in any way.

Bombs and mutagens are different class features with different rules. Those two abilities simply make things happen when you imbibe a mutagen; they don't require making specific mutagens in an either/or fashion. It should work fine.
