20 level class break down for classes in play test

Prerelease Discussion

Silver Crusade

Pazio, would Paizo be able to post a 20level break down of each class prior to the Play test? I have bought a hard cover playtest rule book that I waiting for. I would be nice to see what each class gets a each level prior to the play test being released.

You mean without the feats? It'd only cause trouble, as part of the power budget of each class is in the feats, and may cause people to think the classes look worse than they are just because they don't have access to a big part of their identity.

You'll be able to download the playtest document right away at least, so you don't have to wait for the copy to physically arrive, or even ship, before knowing what's in it.

My biggest fear on August 2nd is their ISP or servers getting overwhelmed. ;-) There are a lot more people now than August 2008.

They've said (I think maybe on one of the Paizo Friday streams, but I'm not sure), that they're offloading a lot of it to cloud storage, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue if it really is reasonably dispersed.

This is pretty much just straight up asking them to post big chunks of the playtest early. That's obviously not something they intend to do or they would have done it by now.

Shine on, Lou crazy Diamond.

I certainly hope this is the case. This website barely chugs along as-is.

The need to personalise each download (your name and email address on every page of the PDF) must be quite a heavy load, however you distribute it. Presumably they're bypassing that for the playtest?

Free downloads don't usually need to be personalized.

What he said.

They've gotten their hands burnt a time or two, but at least we won't have a repeat of the Humble Bundle Personalization Server Incident.

Since all classes now follow a uniform progression, even just posting that would be nice.

That said, I don't really see what use more detailed information on the classes would be without corresponding knowledge of the ruleset itself.

Also, it's what 3 weeks to go. Not a huge wait, really...

Soon.

The overall feat progression can be inferred from the character sheet that was posted from one of the Twitch presentations. For the various feat categories, the levels at which they are granted are listed. Presumably, the "Bonus Feats" section is meant to cover exceptions (such as Rogues getting a Skill feat at every level instead of at every even level as nearly everyone else apparently does).
