Wand of Fabricate Bullets...and Quick Cash...

Pathfinder Society

Hi all,
I was wondering:

A wand of fabricate bullets could be taken for free for 2 PP.

The spell works on 1 pound of lead which costs 2 gp, so without that it is useless...BUT...

...in theory...one could buy 1 pound of lead at 2 gp, produce 30 bullets and sell them at half price for 15 gp with 13 gp profit.

As "money-making" scheme would be bad, but still would be better than selling the wand at half price, since one could get 650 gp from the sold bullets instead of 350 gp of selling the wand at half price.

What do you think of this idea?

Would be impossible to pull in PFS or could be done?

You get half of what you paid for the items.

You paid 0, you get 0.

The only way to make money above the Max Gold on a given Chronicle sheet is to sell items you have already purchased or make a Day Job check.

Unless otherwise stated, you cannot sell for money something you got for free. It doesn't matter how you acquired the item.

While we recognize that creative players can find loopholes in the rules, any combination that would grant your character unlimited resources is not legal for use in Organized Play.

Yeah Nefreet quote the relevant posts (congratulation on that Nova by the way Nefreet), this is one area where it it sounds too good to be true it likely is.

You as well!

GMing the AP helps. I hope to have my 2nd Nova after summer ^_^

Getting a 3rd by year's end may be a stretch.

I think that one of those marathon PbP GMs will be the first to 5 Star status.

Skarn, out of honest curiosity, where did you find lead with a gold price? One of my former VLs has a long-running open bet involving this! :D

But as to the main question - Nefreet, Rob, and Sebastian have it covered :)

The only source for the gold price of lead I know is in the spell description of the item, which frankly sucks as source... :(

Generally speaking, the only way to make "extra" cash in PFS is a DayJob

Last time I made decent money with that but well...I was unlucky that we played low tier... :((

This doesn't work in PFS at all. You get what is on the chronicle plus your day job and that is it.

There's already many ways to have free stuff to not adding this.

As has been noted, in general "get rich quick" schemes do not work in PFS in any form.

I suspect that Shaudius is likely closest, he's a Starfinder GMing machine! :)

Trying to find ways to make gold outside of chronicles and dayjob checks is just a waste time. No idea that you will come up with will be legal.

I suggest spending time working on your character(s) instead.

Also, as stated in a different thread, this wand is actually 850gp so you can't get it for 2PP.

Currently sitting at 57 credits. Was hoping to hit 3 novas by Origins, but the game I thought I scheduled for tonight I actually did not schedule so I'll likely be a game short.

Looking like based on my known schedule, I will GM my 150th game at Super MagFest in early January 2019. Whether that will make me first, hard to say, I see a lot of other 2 nova people on these boards, but don't have a way to know if they're at 30 games or close to 3 novas like me.

No free gold in PFS...which is why I can't just run around picking everyone in towns pockets with my rogue.

Well, unless I buy the vanity that lets you use sleight of hand as a day job.

I am close... 2 more games until nova #3. I might get to Nova #4 by the end of 2018

Wish SFS was more popular in my area. I am 7 away. Should be 4 away but it appears not to be a priority to get GenCon straighten out. I have accepted that I will not get the credit but still bitter by the lack of caring.

All items of value are turned into your VC. They decide which of the murder hobo society guild gets "their fair share." So even if you get 650 gp, 300 above what the 2PP would let you get (if things obtained for free were of any value), that share would need to go to your VC, who would, no doubt, decide that it is not on the chronicle sheet, and thus give it to someone else in the racket which is pathfinder society. Anything "good for you" is not "good for society" including scamming people out of benefits they could get for themselves (which is what PP is: a benefit someone else gave you for free, out of the kindness of their murder hobo heart).

You should have seen my scam involving Pipes of the Sewer and getting 1GP a head for rats... hint: they breed fast.

I have a Tengu rogue who does that at level 6 he is guaranteed 20 gp at a minimum on a day job roll
