What Would You Have Wanted in Bestiary 7?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Since Planar Adventures is apparently the last hardcover for 1E, it seems that Bestiary 7 is not to be.

But, we can still dream. If Bestiary 7 had been published, what would you have wanted to see included?

Dire Giant Ratfolk

Have we had dire giant halflings yet?

I know we have dire giant gnomes (spriggans). But I am looking for a less magical flavor.

You might like this thread here. Even if there is no B7, maybe some suggestions from there will find their way into PF2.

An (non-templated) undead with pounce. Because Undead Anatomy lists pounce as a gainable ability, and yet the way it looks like, there will never be a 1PP undead that one can grant pounce via Undead Anatomy.

Well, there is possibly the nightprowler - it's listed under a different heading in the statblock, but it does specifically say that "nightprowlers have the pounce ability."

Liberty's Edge

Honey badger.

An actual bestiary 7 is what I would have wanted...heck at this point I would be happy even if it was just reprints of monsters from APs and other softcover books.

Gumiho , Korean version of the nine tale fox, which is darker and scarier then the Kitsune.
Also Spirit animals form Chinese legends would be nice. . Would not mind seeing Chinese Faeries either.

How are Chinese Faeries different from the Western variety?

If I understand it correctly, the east asian spirits are a lot less attached to standard humanoid forms, and many of the humanoid spirits have other defining features not seen in normal life. Small winged humanoids are a rarity.

Also, metal is a lot more core to the magic system, so they're not traditionally weak to cold iron.

Ogres. Look at the bellies if you doubt me.

More Lawful Neutral/Chaotic Neutral outsiders. Good and Evil have plenty already, but I feel like those two alignments are hideously under-represented.

They tend to be servants of the various Gods. Lawful good or Lawful Neutral outsiders of various power level . Some also have animal forms they can change into. Almost all seem to know martial arts all well as powerful magic

The Exchange

I never wanted more than a Bestiary 3...

I wanted at least 10 bestiaries;)

Nothing specific. There are so many monsters now that any unfilled niches can be filled by a barely competent GM using existing material as a resource.

So, mimicking someone's "what kind of AP would you want" answer, if Paizo released another Bestiary, I'd want it to be filled with the monsters they wanted to write up, as they'll always be better than what they didn't want to write up.
