We're going to play this weekend, but not our regular campaign. In truth, I'm getting very burned out by it and I NEED a break from it. It's the first adventure for the upcoming campaign, which I plan to run about every 4th game night.

The current game and the last one were created by request of the players, one full of political intrigue and the other about being part of a revolution to overthrow the evil empire which has ruled over the common people for centuries. This game will be entirely my idea, so my players can play or not. It's up to them. I want to do things that I find fun again, and since we've not had this sort of campaign in YEARS we're going to have an over the hills and through the woods, old school adventuring from place to place campaign, with the only goals in mind being fortune and glory. I need this old school bit for my own peace of mind, I think. My players all seem to be on board with it, which I have made plain to them is NOT going to replace the current revolutionary game. I will run it occasionally during it but will switch over to it in a few months when the one we're in comes to an end.

Wow, that turned out longer than necessary!

So who's doing what with dice this weekend? I actually get to be a player tomorrow night! We're going to play DC Heroes. The GM is a bit rusty but it doesn't matter. I get to be on the other side of the screens!

For the first time in six months I won't be preparing for an imminent snow storm.

So, I honestly have no idea what we're doing.

Well, as usual, my chance to be a player got shot in the ass. One of the players can't make it and the GM is utterly incapable of compensating for changes in the number of players he expects. One player and the game is shut down. I'm more than a little bit pissed off.

Both of my RPGs ran this past week.

In Swords of the Serpentine, we picked up after last week's cliffhanger, when we found ourselves pulled into the Shadow Realm by a demon who'd possessed one of our allies. Epic hijinks ensued.

In D&D: Dragon Heist, the PCs now own and operate a tavern. But an incident of mass murder just outside our door is really cutting into business! Our investigation continues.

I also just joined The Gauntlet's Patreon, which will allow access to their online games. I am looking forward to giving those a try!

In non-gaming news, I've been having the interior of my house painted this week. The painters have pretty much finished with the first floor, which means I have my kitchen back. But next week, they'll start on my bathroom... which means I will not have a working shower for a few days. (I'm planning to shower at the gym near my office when that happens.)

Had to cancel this week's game because of work overtime. On the upside, my evening after work was thus free so I went an watched Captain Marvel, which was awesome.

Tomorrow I have a NWN quest to run, beginning the second part of my Waking Rune plotline adaptation.

So... What are everyone's gaming plans for the upcoming week?

My D&D group is on for the next session of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist tonight. We intend to continue to investigate who set off a fireball in the middle of a crowd right outside our tavern.

My other group is also on-track for the next session of Swords of the Serpentine tomorrow night. The GM has told us that two months will have passed since we returned from the Shadow Realm, and that our next adventure will be a standalone one-shot episode.

And I just registered to play anonline session of Magpie Games' horror RPG Bluebeard's Bride in late April via The Gauntlet. This should be interesting! I own a copy of the game, and it looks terrifying!

I hope we finish Wardens of the Reborn Forge tomorrow night, so we can get on with All For Immortality soon. Saturday is a big day with Solstice Scar D running for the first multi-table at our east valley store. And then I have to start book 2 of Skull and Shackles Sunday, which should be a blast.

We start Dawn of Flames this weekend.

Book two IS a blast!

Probably some of the most fun we've ever had gaming.

Everyone is glad to be out of book 1. First they wanted off the boat. Then they wanted back on the boat and off the island. Now they own the boat, so the fun begins!

We're taking a month off. No game this past weekend and no more scheduled until April 13th. I needed a break from the constant GMing I do. But, I get to work on stuff for when we come back together.

I don't know about this weekend yet. I'm not getting back home from Ohio until late Friday night. I know I have a meeting to go to with Zelda on Saturday night. I'm thinking I'm not going to get anything in this weekend.

I was going to join the Cincy group I have a standing invite to, but their session was cancelled due to some out-of-town family obligations.

DMing the Giantslayer group on Friday night and Saturday morning. Then one of the kids of two of the players has an archery tournament about 30-40 minutes away, and it's still up in the air if they're going to go watch him or not. They've had to miss the last two.

No game this weekend. Still on hiatus until April 13th. What about everyone else?

Amazingly enough, no. Driving up to Carefree for tea tomorrow.

Today will be a mix of things. PbPing, visiting with my parents, playing WoW, and hopefully doing some cleaning and organizing. Tomorrow will hopefully be mostly the same except swap out visiting parents for playing a Starfinder scenario with my local lodge. Monday will hopefully also be more of the same except I won't be leaving the house for anything.

I'm a bit of a homebody even under the best of circumstances :)

Savage Tide is on hold until my work schedule stabilizes to something less than 60-hour weeks again. Which sucks, because we're just getting to the really really good part of Here There Be Monsters. But I am just too exhausted and brain-blasted to GM at this point.

On the upside, my group's secondary GM is now free to resume her campaign, so I'll at least get to be playerside in Iron Gods again. We're about to leave Torch and start book 2.

I'm also playerside in a Neverwinter Nights quest tonight. My barbarian is getting to participate in the Wyld Hunt!

Resuming Iron Gods happens tomorrow!

The Wyld Hunt quest in NWN didn't happen due to a server outage, so that event had to get postponed a couple weeks. Tomorrow night, however, is the next event in my Race for the Runecarved Key series. The Harpers have elected to investigate the old museum owner first. Should be interesting!

Seven hours of high level gaming ended at 1am this morning. I am so glad I get to sleep in tomorrow.

Both quests went excellently.

Iron Gods we got to an overrun temple, killed some Mad Max-looking bandit guys, and rescued a bunch of healers and priests. Also they're being haunted by a ghost that my Zealot is trying to figure out how best to placate.

Race for the Runecarved Key discovered that the good doctor and museum curator the Harpers were seeking to dissuade from participating in the auction was actually nearly destitute and only able to keep up managing his museum and participating in the bidding due to being backed by a Zhentarim agent. They destroyed his (the agent's) blood golems and animated objects and slew his Erinyes contact, but the Zhent himself got away thanks to a timely word of recall. But this does remove both the doctor and the woman who was the Erinyes in disguise from the running.

Those both sounded like they were a lot of fun.

No games this weekend. Aiymi is sick. Zelda and I ferried kids around Friday night.

Saturday was spent stacking wood from 6 trees I had taken down.

Today Zelda got a very beautiful new tattoo on her wrist.

Let's see...this weekend...

Depending on the weather, I still have stump grindings to clean up in my yard.

I have to work Friday night.

Taxes have to get finished and sent off.

Zelda will be in Chicago all weekend. Zelda's kids will be with their dad all weekend.

Aiymi and I may take some breaks from our work to play a little bit of her solo RotRL. Hopefully. Maybe.

I'm getting a new hat this weekend, and Grampy Yesterday is taking the kids to go see Captain Marvel.

Also, we start building again next week, I'm pretty excited about that.

Building a new house?

If all goes as hoped I'll run the second game in our side campaign this Saturday. I hit a creative block but some fine folks (some I know from here) pitched in and gave me the ideas I needed to break past the barrier.

This afternoon I see my cardiologist. I can't have the surgery I need on my knee without his permission and going by the way I feel I think I'm going to need a new stent. That would put off the knee surgery for Lord knows how long. I'm going to do my best to talk him into letting me have the knee surgery first. I'm not sure how much longer I can deal with this pain with a breakdown.

Cap works in landscaping. Specializing in all things stone. And he's pretty damn good at the stuff he doesn't specialize in as well.

Slight correction: I specialize in ALL things landscaping, we're better than everyone else at stonework (yes, I'm willing to back that up).

Co-worker hates everything except hardscapes so he in fact does specialize in it, but I was trained in Seattle so I'm more well rounded.

Oh yeah. I forgot Cap was the landscaping overlord and the spring busy season is starting.

Don't take my word for it, our work speaks for itself.

FYI: I'm the guy with long hair.

Wow! That's great stuff!

Off work again! Probably the last week to be so for a while though.

Morning will be dedicated to housework. Family is having guests next weekend and thus cleaning needs to be done.

Iron Gods in the afternoon, hopefully.

And NWN in the evening, with the second attempt at the Wyld Hunt event.

Hope your weekend is restful!

No game for us this weekend as it's our off weekend, but there aren't any on the immediate horizon, either. With the worsening problems with my knee (I'm now having to use a walker) and the distraction the pain causes I'm not going to run any games until I know what my heart doc is going to let me do. He has to give permission for any surgery, even minor, so I won't know until next Wednesday what the verdict is. I took a cardiac stress test today and that's how long I have to wait for the results. Grrrr.

So I might write up a few in advance, but they ain't no playin' going on here.

I honestly have no clue what's going to happen this weekend.

I just found out Easter is this weekend.

Yeah, Easter I knew about. Floating holidays mess me up.

Aiymi inquired about a cat. It's possible I'm driving to southern Missouri this weekend.

No PnP game here either, I'm going to be away from computer during our usual session time and more importantly our server host has to go to a school thing.

Playerside in a NWN event Saturday night as my tiefling theurge continues to deal with the shadow fiend that's been haunting her for years, and on Sunday I'm back DM-side to run another floor of Emerald Spire for my Far Realm plot.

Slo-mo bubble-levels and dirt shoveling! Aw yeah.

In-laws are in town for my daughter's birthday, so any plans I may think I have cannot be relied upon until they leave.

However, I'm hoping to have time to finish going through the Numenara 2 rules as I'd like to run a few adventures using it.

It's also fun to pause it during the time lapse portions.

Back on a hiatus from gaming for us this weekend. I'm jotting down neat ideas for future games but that's about it. Plus half my crew bought advance tickets to "Endgame" so it wouldn't be worth gathering.

How about you guys?

Is there a big movie coming out this weekend, I hadn't heard.

Rumor has it.

Endgame on Saturday, if I can. Local Pathfinder game on Sunday.

It'll be a little while before I see Endgame. I'd like to see it early on but there's no way I could and be comfortable in a theater right now. It'll drive my friends who see it nuts not being able to talk about it with me but that's just tough cookies...lol
