After poking around in YT, I've always liked Destruction Bay as a placename...
Yes! Destruction Bay is a small community on the Alaska Highway next to Kluane Lake. It lies 19 km southeast of Burwash Landing and is home to approximately 43 people. Originally built as a construction camp for the Alaska Highway, Destruction Bay was named for a severe windstorm that occurred in the 1940s.
I am going to place this small community up north in the Superior Sea, because the lakes are seas in the OTW. As for why is named that, there are several rifts to the elemental planes that results in wildly varying weather in this region, and there's one in particular to the Elemental Plane of Air.
So its really windy there, and your character Cole Deschain lives there. : )

I am seeing you as an 18th Level Ranger and a 2nd Level Expert in a particular field of study you like. The Off-Topic World, or OTW for short, will be a continuing, fun build leading up to the Apocalypse (the release of the Pathfinder 2ed Playtest) on August 2nd. I see it as a true Apocalypse, which really means a revelation. A lot of positive changes are coming. Thanks for your contribution to the OTW!
Let's make a real contribution in regards to a kingdom. If you look at The OTW Map over to the Ontario region that is a perfect place to make the Kingdom of Antaria (Ontario = Antaria).
The names of the cities can be virtually unchanged. I will change Lake Ontario to the Antarian Sea. Lake Erie becomes the Eriel Sea. Kingston stays the same. Orillia becomes Arillia. Oshawa becomes Ashawa. Buffalo becomes Bisen. London becomes Landan. Hamilton becomes Harriston. Ottawa will become Attawa and the obvious capital city of Antaria.
Basically, the OTW is our world but with a few cosmetic changes. Also it saves time and money too without having to create a new world, because that takes 4-5 billion years. As far as the exact details that will come later, because I have been at this Starbucks too long...
I just got a revelation of what will probably happen on the OTW on August 2nd. We know that there are rifts connected to Elemental Planes that feed the Great Seas and the winds. Perhaps on Apocalypse day more of those rifts open. Maybe some sort of Wall that was holding all of the Unknown stuff away of the world is coming down, and all that was kept out out will be revealed? That sounds like an Apocalypse to me!
There's more! I was looking at The OTW Map and I was looking at Ohio. One of the cities there is named Xenia and that would be a perfect name for that area. I'll rename the Ohio River into the Xenian River and that is a borderline. The city of Dayton can be renamed into Lighton and Toledo can become Taleda and Cleveland can become Reeveland. Interesting...to me at least. : )
I am seeing Xenia as a sort of theocracy, but a good one. Lighton can be a city devoted to the gods of light or light itself. Maybe the name Xenia is based on a goddess or something. Not sure yet.
Indiana will be...I don't know yet. I have an idea, but I hold off on that. Let it grow slowly...
I'm looking at Iowa, and thinking what to call my jungle. I think I'll call my county Paradise.
I love the the name! It leads me to wonder why it is called Paradise. There must be a great back story to it. I can see the Paradise jungle being in-between the Iowa River and Des Moines River. I wonder what to call Iowa itself? I love how making one place leads to another place. All very interesting. ; )

Well that’d be some stuff to tell.
Mort basically is the odd leopard of the group that unlike the rest of the litter, likes reading. When he was a cub he’d sneak to the nearby gnome village and sit at the side of the window for lessons and sit outside the window listening to bedtime stories. So he likes reading, and is fully literate. He also stole a few pens and a book to scribe his spellbook, like he’d see those gnome wizards do. He made himself pouch to hold all his spellcasting essentials.
But one day, the gnomes started evacuating the place. Nasty, nasty loggers were coming to invade the place and they were making themselves scarce. Mort didn’t really understand at that time, but he soon did, after the humans started chopping down trees. He tried to show up in their town, for listening to lessons at the window. He found it unrecognizable after they razed the quaint gnome houses and built their own cold, forbidding structures of grey bricks. And they started seeing him as a potential fur coat, and shooting arrows at him. He ran away, and deciding that humans were nasty bigots. He left the place and went to establish his home, one with nature – built among trees, but also with the comfort of civilization (books) in it. He bargained with elementals to help him fill his library, and wonders if in the world there are any other bookish animals like him, that would like to learn, but are denied by prejudice.
He calls his place paradise for he views it that way, and also would think that it would be that for others, who don’t have a place to call home.

This is amazing! It describes the reason behind Paradise perfectly and it includes other stuff that can be included later. I can see more Elemental stuff included. That's looking like a theme. Very good! : )
The Eternal Orbs
They are a blatant ripoff of the Infinity Stones, but does it really matter? The Eternal Orbs were created at the Dawn of Time and each one represents a different aspect of existence. So yes, you can have an orb devoted to time, mind, soul, reality, power and space like the MCU ones.
HOWEVER, there can also be orbs devoted to Magic, Divinity, Anger, Peace, Love, War and many other aspects of existence. The Eternal Orbs are supposed to be scattered throughout the Universe, but for some odd, inexplicable reason they are all on the OTW (I really need a name for this world) now and if they are ever gathered together it could mean the end of all life AS WE KNOW IT!
So this is (potentially) not good for the OTW...but it can become very interesting to watch. I wonder what's going to happen...

That't not exactly how the Eternal Orbs work here on the OTW. There is also a someone there who makes sure that should not happen, but I also have to say nothing is impossible there. It could get really interesting in about 3 months... ;)
P.S. you and Tom are both feline, so you should both be friends or the worst of enemies. Just a thought.

We have a new change. Michigan will become Mychygar and Lake Michiagn will become the Mychygar Sea. Lansing becomes Lansong and Detriot becomes Detarot. I am not sure what Mychygar means, but it could be the name of someone or of a tribe. Not really sure yet.
The Earth state's name, Michigan, originates from the Ojibwe word mishigamaa, meaning "large water" or "large lake". Maybe on the OTW it means something similar. I do know that the upper peninsula is NOT a part of Mychygan, so someone is free to name it. For now.

This may just be a tall tale cooked up to sell curiously carved amulets, however.
Also, eating citrus fruits is utterly taboo, but the reasons for this are rather garbled. The surrounding populace claim it's because it curdles the humours, but certain odd local proverbs and rituals suggest that this is not the whole truth....

Recent news from the OTW
Taking a look at the OTW Map self-proclaimed King Le Bron has led his army of Cavaliers on a war path from the Monarchy of Xenia (Ohio). He crossed the Ariel Sea into the land of Ataria and then attacked every city and town he came across. So far he has captured the cities of Landan (London), Harriston (Hamilton) and Taranto (Toronto). Taranta is the capital of Ataria, so he decided to rename it LeBronto after himself.
King Le Bron is a 33 year old human, 6'8" tall, 250 pounds, muscular and virtually unstoppable in combat. He personally fights along his Cavaliers, and so far he has rarely known defeat. If his army is defeated in a battle, he always blames the other Cavaliers fighting along side him and not himself.
That would imply that either the original attack was a surprise, or that Antaria has a poor navy. Horsemen would be a liability on the seas, and the default challenge from the cavalier class only applies to melee. In any case, Le Bron seems to have pushed forward without making sure his flank is covered, since a counterattack could be made from the fortress at the east edge of the Eriel sea.
Excellent! I am sure King Le Bron was only thinking about offense and not defense, Yes its called Fort George on Earth, but it could use some renaming here. Let's see...begins with letter G and six letters...how about Fort Gorgon? That's it.
King Le Bron and his Cavaliers have a severe vulnerability and I have no doubt the Antarians will exploit that to liberate their capital. Renaming it to "Lebronto" was a classless move. ;)

Regarding your first point, bar the fact that a doom too hideous to describe would certainly overtake the foul perpetrator of such a heinous deed, the Mandarins of Manitoulime Island are notably closed-mouthed on this point, though it is certain that contingency plans have been made. Possibly it lives forever in our hearts or something. Regarding your second point, this may have some bearing on the taboo on eating citrus fruits observed by the local humans, as may the strangely hued children that haunt the marshes thereabouts, shunned by the natives, especially when the moon glows round and yellow as a grapefruit...
Limey Long Ears, there would be a whole new race of people with orange and light-green skin who consider eating fruit of any kind to be cannibalism. They would naturally be carnivores. They would have certain special abilities that go along with that...interesting...
King Le Bron and his army of Cavaliers had crossed the Eriel Sea on large ships under cover of a fog spell. Actually they first assaulted Port Burwell, and then once they took it over they started attacking every town and city they came across. Landan, Harriston and other major cities fell until they took over Taranto, which he renamed to LeBronto.
The Antarian Navy is about to leave Fort Gorgon, which is on Antarian Sea, and they launch everything they have against King Le Bron. He is unstoppable in hand to hand combat, because there's little he can do against an armada of ships. He is a great warrior, but a poor planner. It will be interesting to see what he does when the Antarians begin to liberate their capital.
Since the OTW looks and feels very Earth-like, I am confident in saying it has a 364 day year, it is probably the 3rd world from a Sun, but not sure. There is one Sun in the sky, and there is one Great Moon that orbits the world 13 times a year. Using basic Math that means each month is 28 days long and I want there to be four, 7 day weeks in a year. That means a 13 month calendar.
However, there are other Lesser Moons too. They are smaller than the Great Moon or in higher orbits. There is also a ring of rocks (with previous metals too) that orbit the world and it is often called The Crown. There are also other worlds in the Solar System and other weird stuff floating around out there (dead gods), but that is how I view the OTW.
YOU may have a different view of it and that's okay. In fact, it's part of the world itself. Reality there is all fudged up. Perhaps someone used too many Eternal Orbs, but what is real there is up to debate. Each one of your "worlds" is another piece of the OTW, so it's like multiple realities in one world.
It could account for different place names, different Gods, different races and even different histories all together. However, they are all united under one OTW.
Now I have an idea for the names of a 13 month calendar and a 7 day week, but I will save that for later. There could be LOTS of different calendars for this world. Just Google Earth calendars sometime to see all of the ones for our planet. Go ahead and look. I'll wait...
Take a look at The OTW Map at the Earth state of Indiana. I propose changing it to Niadani, and the Niadani people live like their ancestors did thousands of years ago. They are like the Native Americans who live in nomadic tribes, except for one city that they all gather at once a year for a gathering of the Chieftains. This would be Niadanipolis.
The Niadani would have very descriptive names. In our most common language some of their names are Dances With Horses, Smiles A Lot, Runs Very Fast, Talks Too Much, High Pitched Voice, Big and Strong, Short and Sweet, Loves To Eat, Fights Real Good, and Ed.

An interesting idea: IRL a lot of general ideas of Native Americans were based on post-contact cultures, such as the use of horses. We could invert that and have the Niadani be the originators of some of the higher tech. Nomads chasing surface minerals as much as herd animals, their territory marked by bloomery kilns.
Yes we could that sounds interesting. I did not think of that possibility.
