I'm about to start this campaign with my group and I wanted to make them passionate about the city and the secondary characters before the initial destruction.
I wanted to ask you what are the places, churches, monuments, inns and above all characters that will meet and will play a role, for better or for worse, in the first 2 chapters of the saga.

I don't know if this answer is too late, but there is a whole section of the first book describing Kenabres in detail. We played 2 sessions in the city before the disaster. There are a lot of Captains and some notable NPCs that come later, that you could foreshadow in the first encounters.
