Battle Glove + Unarmed Strike = Lethal Punch?

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

Suppose a close combat type wanted to take the Improved Unarmed Strike as their main form of (melee) attack. Then, he had an idea to wear a Cetus Battleglove to augment his unarmed strikes, at least enough to make them lethal and non-archaic. No powered armor, no racial natural attacks, no armor storm style, just the Improved Unarmed Strike feat and a battle glove or two.

Is the result:

A.) A combination similar to being a monk or brawler in PF. Attack with the battle glove and deal the damage from improved unarmed strike (whichever is greater).

OR

B.) They're two separate weapons. Choose between either the battle glove or improved unarmed strike when making a melee attack or attack of opportunity.

The latter. A battleglove is not an unarmed strike. It is a separate weapon, and there is no text that indicates that IUS can substitute its damage when using a sufficiently fist-like weapon.
