I figured the 8 vs 18 Con example was about characters at dramatically different levels; not everybody runs games where everything in the world scales to match the PCs.
I'm more apt to object by asking who ever actually plays characters with a Con penalty? I've dumped every other stat at times but 10 Con is the lowest I've played since 3.0 came out. One day maybe I'll be that brave.
I think the new dying rules sound overly complicated, but it certainly doesn't help trying to grock them with thirdhand reports of people using them as our only information source.

Locking the thread. I think it started off on the wrong foot. Hyperbole about game rules so bad it makes you want to kill yourself isn't a great way to start out a thread. Additionally, I'm not really keen on yet another thread of people saying "I want X to not change," and other people saying "Well I do want X to change," that devolves into arguing about which kind of subjective enjoyment of a game is objectively the correct one. If you want to start the thread over with a less provocative post please do. Keep in mind, the best way to influence what is or is not changed is to participate in the Playtest and that others may have very different ideas about what they want to see or think will work.
