I would expect the opposite: I'd be surprised if they dropped a very controversial blog right before the convention. But if the Wizard is pretty much what we expect, no big surprises, I could see why it might feel like a good one to drop next week.
You are probably right, I have not accounted for convention dates

I hadn't thought of it either until Mark brought it up in Friday's Twitch stream.

Monsters today, and more detail on Friday:
Blog wrote:tune in on Friday as Logan goes through an example monster in detail and shows how we made the statblock easier to reference!Which means Wizards on Monday, just in time for PaizoCon and fitting the every-other-week pattern we've been seeing for class reveals since the Rogue.
Am I the only one who would kill to see an actual stat block, or be still my beating heart, a character sheet?

No. I'm really hoping that the 'tune in' message means that we'll see a full statblock.

I am hoping the next blog is a class review of the druid.
Friday is a more in-depth look at a monster stat block.
Monday is Wizard for GenCon, I believe. The subsequent Friday is probably a follow-up (although we now know there’s no familiar blog, barring their charity fundraiser getting a lot of money in two days).

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you shouldnt get your hopes up for hearing about the druid anytime soon. Quoting my post upthread on last week's twitch stream with Mark:
Incidentally, at some earlier point in the stream Mark says that we won't see information about the Druid until "much later" but it's not clear to me whether he was exaggerating for effect or whether his comment means what it says on its face.

Thanks for quoting that even if it is not what I wanted to hear.

I'm guessing they want to deal with animal companions (either on their own or as a followup to a Ranger blog) and transformation / polymorph magic before they address the Druid.

I posted to the discussion thread for the new blog by tracking down Frencois' list of posts and replying to his post that started the thread. I have no idea how he started the discussion, since even after I posted to it I still could not see the blog or the discussion thread.

You appear to have made it at least somewhat accessible, including the actual Blog viewable. Soi thanks. :)

Bets on 3 spell slots a day?
I imagine the wizard is still "squishier" than the cleric, with less hit points, armor and weapons. And they won't have a bunch of free healing spells on top of their spells like the cleric either.
So to compensate for that, I'd certainly hope the wizard still ends up with 4 spells per tier. Even if they use a universal spells per day by level progression, the wizard can just get a class bonus of an extra spell per day at each odd level. Failing that, I'd hope that they either get a ton more cantrips or that the schools can use their spell points to cast spells from those schools.

Do not take me for some conjurer of cheap tricks.
I have no shame in conjuring Cheap Tricks all the time!

sorcerer probably focuses on more spell points if i was building it.
I was momentarily confused abut what you meant here. And I might stil be wrong.
I know we're stuck with spell-points in the playtest, but I really hope they come up with a better name for actual game. Specifically, I want a name that is: 1) thematic, and 2) hasn't been used for a 3.- optional system already (which means Spell points AND Power points need not apply).

Could just call it Power Pool.
Or even Resource Points/Pool, since it serves no purpose other than to be a game mechanic.
But I wouldn't be surprised if Spell Points is still there when the Core gets published, simply because changing it so late in the game (after it's been integrated into the playtesting) would prove just as confusing to players.

It's a pool of points used to cast spells, spell points is a perfect name for it (IMO).
I keep hearing people complain about this term and I don't agree.

The chief problem with the term Spell Points is there are actual spellcasters with real spells which don't use spell points but rather use spell slots. And spell slots can't be substituted for spell points nor vice versa. A couple of my players for the playtest are already confused by it.
They do need another name for it.

I wonder what their commission would be if I summoned them with Planar Ally?

Is today's blog post going to be about wizards, generally, or THE Wizard, specifically?

How do we know that wiz is the next preview? Share with me this secret well of information plz.
I think it was Mark that said they needed to cover Wizard before PaizoCon because it was being used in the PF2E demo games. This was like 2 Fridays ago. They also revealed at the same time that last week was going to be about monsters and stat blocks.

Meanwhile, I'm hoping they make specialization and picking opposition schools /mandatory/, as part of reigning in the all-powerful generalist God-wizards who cherry pick all the best spells from every school without respect to theme or flavor.

It's from 10 days ago, but see this post upthread.
Good tidbit about class previews at the very end of last night's Paizo Friday Twitch stream with Mark. Headline: We're pretty much guaranteed to see Wizard this week (or maybe next).
Here's why:
Starting at 1:14:13, Mark reveals that class preview blogs are coordinated with the PaizoCon playtest sessions. There will be 6 Playtest pregens available for play at PaizoCon, and the preview blogs are arranged to cover those 6 classes before the convention.
So far, the blogs have covered: Fighter, Rogue, Alchemist, Cleric, Paladin. Mark says that "you can guess what the sixth one might be."
PaizoCon starts Friday 25 May. So that means Wizard this week or next and one week without a class preview. Wizard for obvious reasons: they aren't going into the big convention without the Fighter-Rogue-Cleric-Wizard quartet. (Also, haven't some of the streamed games featured Wizard characters?)
So I'd guess Wizard this week and no class preview next week as Paizo gears up for the convention.
(Incidentally, at some earlier point in the stream Mark says that we won't see information about the Druid until "much later" but it's not clear to me whether he was exaggerating for effect or whether his comment means what it says on its face.)
