@Fromper: You're kidding right? 'the only thing it did is ruin lore warden?' That has to be a bait statement? lol

This book has the complete rules on Hellknights, Red Mantis Assassins, Eagle Knights and so many others... so much stuff that I could play another 5 years of 1E and not go through all the options. My wish is to somehow see the 1E PFS RPG Guild evolve to include adventures for evil PCs so that I can try some of the less goody-goody options like the Gray Maidens, but even if PFS doesn't go there I could find stuff to keep me busy a long, long time.

I didn't say that's the only thing the book did. I said it's the only thing I've heard about it. As I said, I already felt overwhelmed by the rules bloat of too many books in this game, so I really haven't been paying much attention to the new releases, pretty much since Occult Adventures.

Weren't there already rules for Hellknights and Red Mantis? I have a friend who played the Hellknight prestige class in PFS back in 2012. I think that's the other thing I had previously heard about that book - lots of reprinted material. Again, nothing I heard made me the least bit interested in checking out the book.

Cup hustles on in. “Did someone ask for Lady Calpurnia Underhall Poshkettle of House Al-Hadir?” She holds up her tea pot. “I’m here, I’m here! I was just heating up tea!”

She quietly hands THUNDERLIPS! a table cloth, and looks away. “Um, you can wrap it around your waist until we find your thong.”

Sara Marie, I have no idea what you deleted, but thank you for all you do. Would you like to have tea and cookies with us?

To everyone else, guess who just GMed her 150th table? I have 150 tables and I already have my specials. Wooooot! I GMed “Heroes for Highdelve” and went all out. I made handouts, brought gold-wrapped hershey’s kisses to represent some of the fair food, and made really pretty gold-foil origami dragons to commemorate the occasion. I also brought my miniature finger puppet stage, so that they could give an actual puppet show perfomance for the festival — and they came up with a silly five minute play for the occasion.

My party had a blast going with me through this silly little scenario, and it was short enough we all had time to socialize afterwards.

It was a lovely time.

I grant you that PDK, but I saw Occult classes pretty directly after the release of that book.

Granted though, I haven't even seen many Vigilantes F2F nor very much at all from Adventurer's Guide aside from archetypes.

Most of my players are like blissfully unaware that VC even had player options until I explained a feat I had was from it, so you're probably more right than I think.

Well archtypes is a lot of what is in adventurers guide. That and a ton of background. And it takes a while if people want to plan to build up to an adventurers guide prestige class. . There is also the odd spell or feat in there.

Yup! Lots of interesting stuff there!

You shoulda mentioned about the barrel ride. I still think it wasn't best of ideas having Malsuza slosh around in the ride like that. On the good side, at least they didn't leave a mess!

Was nice seeing Torgen get ta talk to the gal at the ride. Seems he took a real shine to her!

Alright, I’ll talk about the barrel ride. In addition to the four Highdelve pregens, I had along Betty Boomstick and Malsuza. Betty’s feisty, but she’s an elf. Even with her gun, Buster, most people wouldn’t look twice at her. Meanwhile, Rosc’s oozemorph, Malsuza, arrived in a barrel, carted by her hireling-of-the-day, Sergei. Sergei dropped off the barrel at the Venture Briefing, along with a backpack and a note. The note said, The contents of this barrel will help you during this adventure. Please feel free to use the contents of this backpack to defray any barrel-transportation expenses.

So I finish with the Venture Briefing and Torgen the dwarf decides to be thrifty and carry the barrel the entire way to Highdelve. Slosh. Slosh. Slosh. When they arrived at the festival, Torgen announced, “I’m tired of carryin’ this blasted barrel. I lugged it 420 miles to this place, and I’m gonna put it down.”

Torgen immediately noticed the barrel-go-round ride, and paid for a ticket. He then poured Malsouza into the ride, and then started spinning it really, really fast. I made Malsouza make reflex saves to stay in, since she was effectively an oozemorph in a centrifuge. Malsouza makes it out, and decides that maybe it would be best to transform to a human so that she can participate in the fair in a more meaningful manner. So she starts shaping into one so that she can compete in the sack race, and Torgen wails, “Four HUNDRED and TWENTY miles I carried ye, and ye had legs all along?”

“I can’t maintain my shape for long!!” Malsuza wails back. “Mom was an alchemist, and drank all kinds of crazy things when she was pregnant with me!”

It was hilarious. Meanwhile, Torgen decides to flirt with the dwarf running the sack race, and trades in one of his two weapons for a cask of really fine ale, and proceeds to woo her while the rest of the party competed in the race. Afterwards, I noted that the courting couple were the only people who hadn’t jumped in the sack, and my whole party groaned.

Between all that and the real-life puppet show, this GM was duly entertained.

I had a very short run of an evergreen that went way short and only cast one spell as a sorceror.

A writhing, violet puddle of ooze creeps into the room from underneath a closed door. It shifts and undulates, rising up and taking the shape of a humanoid. Definition of shape and color take form as it morphs into a human woman in leathers with a smile on her mostly-forgettable face.

"To be fair, I'm getting better at it. Now I can hold this form for two whole hours before my body decides to turn itself inside-out. But that's not all I've achieved!"

The woman produces a shiny new wayfinder, presenting it proudly. "I just finished with my confirmation! It was pretty crazy. Beasts in the wilderness, a near-miss with something big and scary, and an encounter with a gelatinous cube. Me and the cube were fast friends. We took it for a walk and we fed it everything we killed and it was a great time had by all!"

"Oh, and Janira got a whole lot of jogging in. Like, hours of it. We weren't exactly fast with our end of the mission, what with our cubular companion reaching the top speed of a one legged dwarf in deep marsh."

Can't be any shorter than the Great Grippli Slaughter of 2016. We all died in the first encounter.

I had that happen to me in mists of mwangi but yes that was shorter but not the entire scenario and over half a year ago.
