Selling things worth less than 10 credits

Is there a minimum you get can back (such as 1 credit), or can you just not sell things under 10 credits?

There is no minimum resale value that I can find. Starfinder's rule for rounding down thus means items worth less than 10 credits have no resale value unless they're trade goods, or resold in bulk. A GM is free to circumstantially change this, and the possibility is listed in the rules themselves, but that is not the default.

I’m sure you own a lot of things IRL with zero resale value. This is much less of a stretch than the 10% rule for valuable durable goods.

Are you sure selling cheap items in bulk wouldn't still net a return of 0 credits?

In other words, do the game rules assume you round down after summing the total value, or after each individual item?

They state no assumption either way, so no, I'm not certain. Bulk reselling could net you an actual value, or it could simply be multiplying by 0. It's GM discretion.

The questions in this thread are based on the assumption that 1 (one) credit is the smallest unit of currency in the Pact Worlds. This is not the case. Fractional credits are totally fine, the currency is entirely digital, anyway. Your credstick might just not support it.

In most technologically advanced urban areas, no one bothers to track fractions of credits, and few things cost a fraction of a credit. Mass production makes it cheaper to sell entire suits of clothing, prebundled into 1-credit packages, than to sell individual items worth less than a credit each. However, some credsticks are designed to allow fractional credit purchases.

This also answers the question of selling in bulk. If you drive up to a store and try to sell an item for 0.2 credits, they might get annoyed with you because they have to get out their specialized "fractional credits" credstick. Selling five of them for 1 credit should be fine, though.
