Sovereign Court

I have seen the first 3 episodes of Counterpart on Starz. I really like the show so far its something different. I have been wanting something to scratch that cold war era spy genre and this is doing it. Simmons is good as usual, but not making the show on his own. The writing and execution is what is making it a hit for me. I don't expect that to be universal though its more tinker tailor than bond or bourne.

Anybody else checking this out?

Sovereign Court

Damn, the best kept secret on television is done. (Starz opted not to renew. Could be saved...) I really enjoyed both seasons. Each had weaknesses, but I think the writing and execution overcame them.

Still nobody checking this out?

I only just heard about its existence, and that's exactly the kind of show I would like. But I'm also not currently paying for Starz.

Yeap, not many folks sub up for Starz. Thats unfortunate because Starz has some great programming. I think the nail in coffin was not spreading season one out to any of the streaming services. This might be due to Disney+ launching soon.

Anyways, I raved about the show to a friend who recently got season one on DVD for like 17 bucks. Another got the DVDs from the library. If you can find it, Counterpart is worth checking out.

Who knows; maybe some network will pick it up. /crosses fingers

Scarab Sages

I enjoyed the series, but was disappointed with the ending (with James Cromwell's character). Mostly because I saw it coming from a mile away. I would have preferred them to try and be a bit more unpredictable.

spoiler:
Yeah, I dont think (James Cromwell's character) of all people would underestimate Mira. I dont think he would have gone anywhere near his daughter and kids. Though, it would have made an interesting development for an outbreak in season 3.
