In PF illusion spells were foiled by spellcraft, and low level detect spells such as detect magic and detect <insert alignment>.
During a recent live playtest this was stated:
"The only way the illusion is detected is if it is lower-level than the detection spell. If it is of the same level, it is unnoticed."
I personally welcome this change. I know detect magic too 3 round to foil an illusion, but now they'll be better off.
Does anyone else think this was a good idea?

With the limitations on the illusion used in the podcast, it won't be long before players (not characters) instantly recognize illusions for what they are and start using that meta-game knowledge to react.
If higher level illusions get rid of the differences in action economy and damage, what differentiates the illusions from summoned monsters? (Other than the obvious disadvantage of an opponents ability to disbelieve.)
I quite like it, but moreover I'd like to see more concrete rules for illusions because there's too much table variance in PF1.
This I agree with. Current rules for illusions are so nebulous as to render them unusable at many tables.
