Invaders from Lingshen stole a distinctive map from Shokuro and kept it as spoils of war. The map is painted onto orange silk and highly detailed with clues to locate the Summer Palace. I understand the map now rests in a calligraphy school in Xiwu called the School of Affinities. The School of Affinities does not understand the cultural significance of the map and has refused to even engage in discussions about returning it to its rightful country of origin. Please bring this map home. This task requires subtlety, discretion, and likely light fingers.

Moving into the secret room, he looks around with the others. He use his aerokinesis to carefully blow the dust off the papers on the desk, hoping that they might be of value.

As Kita looks at the Naginata, he is able to determine it is considerably nicer than the equipment that is given to the common soldier. The faded coloration and weathered pommel suggest that this was used often, and well cared for. The Imperial Dragon motif etched in to the blade signified that the owner was a General in the army of Lung Wa.

As Skaf blows the dust off of the desk, the drawers rattle and jingle. The letters on the top are written in Tien:

After watching the others ransack the bedroom for a moment Abolt attempts to be useful by going and listening at the other door in the statue hallway and looking for any obvious tampering.

"You all seem to have the 'digging though stuff' in hand." he says as he walks back to the hallway.

As the continued wind blows through the room, the desk drawers continue to rattle in their frame until popping open. Inside, are what looks to be a few gold coins, and a Gold Ring with an inscription on the inside of the band.

Kita secure the map as well as he can to his pack and continues carrying the Naginata. He will wait in this room until the other door in the hallway has been cleared.

As Myth checks the door, the recently singed door finally crumbles under the weight of time. The door collapses into the far room, which is open to the canopy above. Small ferns and flowers grow between the floorboards of this decrepit room, and the remains of the roof and timber are rotten with age.

Abolt watches Mythryndyr slip silently over to the other room and decides to follow as quietly as he can and while not quite so quiet he does ok. At the middle of the room he stops not wanting more fire to the face and begins so play with little globs of magic acid.

Huh. I thought I posted this on Saturday. No matter, let's try again!

A shredded red carpet, with thick gouges into the floor runs the length of the other hallway. At the end is a toppled statue, with crumbled stone scattered into the corners. The doors to the east and west have been torn off of their hinges, and the rooms inside torn apart. 4 tall posts covered in bite marks are all that remain of a probably ornate bed. A shredded mess of feathers, cloth and straw lies between them.

In the room across the hall, many empty wooden racks stand starkly, with messes of mottled and crumpled rags.

DC20 Craft(Clothing) or Profession (Tailor):
These piles of soiled and ruined cloth were once beautiful garments from all over the region. Colorful patterns would have made for a varied and interesting wardrobe. Unfortunately, they are little more than rags at this point.

Hmmm... Seems like we are pretty much done inside, right? Did we ever figure out what was keeping the bear away from the NE portion of the main room? I know Myth explored that corner of the room, but GM never really mentioned if he found anything.

We also still have the mystery of who was possessing the bear to deal with.

Looking around the courtyard of the manor, you can find some evidence of crumbling stone benches, and claw marks and gouges into the shrubs and exterior greenery.

After a thorough look around the grounds, Kita is unable to locate a basement or other underground structure.

As you arrive back in Ashima, Mai Chun is standing outside, shooing children out of her house. "Remember! Practice your Handwriting, and your poems are due next week! Anyone caught without a poem will be weeding the gardens!"

"Welcome back Friends! What did you find on the estate?"

After looking over the papers and books, and smiling at the produced valuables, a soft blush overtakes her face as she reads the letters.a few moments later, her eyes grow wide, and the hastily unrolls the map over her chalkboard, removing the magnets from painted pictures to hold it up.

"The Summer Palace? It's location has been a mystery for Decades! With the descriptions of these constellations, and some of the background details from these scandalous letters, we might be able to determine it's location! So friends, Who would like to make history?"

And that concludes the first quest! Feel free to rest, and replenish your resources, as the trip to any one of the local areas is more than a day away! I will have the Handouts for the next few quests at the top of the page, and you all can choose which one you would like to embark on next!
