Young and Advanced Template stacking

Rules Questions

So first off: can player characters have these templates?

Secondly: can players have BOTH these templates?

Cheers,

Scarab Sages

Players can't have any templates unless the gm says they can have templates - perhaps excluding certain items or abilities that give you a specific template. Templates are primarily a bestiary/monster thing.

can something have both yes, should they have both no.

Officially, there are exactly two conditions where a PC should EVER have the Young template: An oracle with the Child Curse (as an alternative to the thematics of the actual curse, not on top of it), and the Feral Child druid template.

UNofficially, nothing excludes a PC from having both, but you better have some good, fluff-filled back story on why a child has a +4 to ALL skills AND a +2 to their natural AC. And GM approval before you bother applying EITHER.

I read about this combination elsewhere.

As it is cheesy, as a DM I'd rule that the Advanced applies first (+2 nat armour), and the Child second (-2 nat armour), resulting in +0 nat armour.

As a player, I recognized the cheese, but then quickly thought this could emulate a neuro-atypical persona.

i have never seen gm allow nor have i allowed the advanced template to be used with the young template, any other template is fair game to use with young but not advanced
