Oh, don't let my curmudgeonly ways get you down. I'm beginning to think the food police have been successful in brain washing me.

Ah, its alright. I know I should let up a bit on the soda.

Have you tried milk? I grew up drinking the stuff (no Urizen, not that kind. I was not raised by Catelyn Stark's sister) and have never gotten out of the habit. Except when we were in Belgium and the stuff had enough preservatives in it that the best before dates were about a month or two after purchase...

I no like. plain milk gives me stomach cramps. juice bothers my tummy, I need to get some of the Mio's or something.

Scarab Sages

I hardly ever drink moo juice anymore. Sad. I used to drink a glass every morning, and again at night before bed. Always chocolate, though.

Scarab Sages

And, with that, I should get back to work. Later folks.

GOOD LUCK TAIG!!!!!!!

I probably won't give soda up completely, but I was drinking too much of it: usually about 2 cans a day all during the work week, then at least one 20 oz on the weekend.
2 a day is too much?! Oh boy, I have two before noon usually. I'll drink about 5 cans a day during the work week and then usually nothing but coffee and soda on the weekends. Kinda why I switched to the coke zero or pepsi max. I do enjoy iced tea or flavored waters, but I hate just plain water. I think it stems from my childhood. Nothing but beer and water in the fridge :S
And I feel guilty if I have more than 3 (33 cl) cans a week!

I had to break my hatred of water when I was really I'm shape. Part of it is that we all are well and truly addicted to soda -it's truly like a liquid drug on some level.

Def! I get migranes w/out my coffee or soda. I will readily admit to an addiction to soda's and coffee. I get mean and cranky, and then I crash. But I figure, honestly, I don't drink alcohol often, I don't do any sort of drug, I do smoke, but have lessened on even that habit. So I let myself have my soda.

Have you tried seltzer? It really worked wonders for me in helping me kick soda.

No I haven't, but I'm up for giving it a go. I think I would need at least one a day, early afternoon, due to the caffine addiction.

Seltzer usually is caffeine free, however.

Freehold DM wrote:

do you mean carbonated water?

carbonated mineral water is by far the number one drink in germany, out of environmental friendly return bottles of course :-)
yes, we are that boring

germans NEVER drink tap water, if you ever have a german guest in your house, don't offer him tap water, he will react as if you had just offered him to drink out of your toilet
german tap water is, by the way, the heaviest regulated and controlled product on the planet, it is in fact guranteed to be of higher quality than our bottled mineral water, but we NEVER would drink it

LOL, was just reading through some of the old FawTl threads. Do you know we had a similar convo in Son of FawTl?!

lol, I think we have come full circle.

Hmm.... that piece of information might come in handy when we decide to take back Rügen. ;)

I can't, either. Bad experienced with expired milk that got sour and cheesed. I should've known better than to drink from the carton.

Even chocolate milk is a rarity.

I really do need to work on my calcium intake, though. I have to take supplements due to the bypass surgery because of the issue involving calcium (citrate) absorption through regular means.

Carbonated water. Blech.

You know you live in Scandinavia when you keep forgetting there's actually quite a lot of people who's got varying degrees of intolerance to milk, which, as far as intolerances goes, is one of the more acceptable ones ;).

(Thanks to our high immigration rate we've got lactos-free dairy products in most stores these days, though. But that's something that's only happened in the past five to ten years.)

*sigh* is this day over YET!?

I need customers or something. Bored!

Toniiiiight... We are young... So let's set the world on fire...

I like this song. :D

Yeah, I can eat dairy based products no prob, but just milk hurts. Not sure why. *shrugs*

We have lactose free here as well, its just too dang expensive. I buy milk for the kids, and coffee of course. :)

Uck! :P

FB time? Yes, I think it is. :)

Chem test went horrible. Here's hoping I didn't actually fail it. :(

And I am definitely among the lactose intolerant. Soy milk and non-dairy creamer are my substitutes of choice. Though I still miss cheese. Well, sometimes when I'm going through a good patch I'll indulge a little. And there's always goat cheese. that doesn't bother me even when the sensitivity is at its worst. It tends to go in cycles.
the thing is, I could tolerate dairy just fine until like a year ago and suddenly boom, no more dairy for me. :(

Wow, too much to keep track of.

Not really, much of it is food/drink related.

I'm closing in on my 40th, but it's not a shudder I have. More like an expression of "WTF?!? HOW DID I MAKE IT THIS LONG?".

I know I went on and on a couple weeks ago. But I am so not ok with this. I don't like it at all. I am thinking of having 'anniversaries' from now on, not birthdays :P

wow. That's interesting. In America tap water and it's social media acceptability varies by area. Tap water in ny is some of the best in the country and even the world, although it is a little chlorinated. There are some areas where tap water is for bathing only. Do you guys cook with your tap water?

That would be integrating if it was true.

yes, we cook with it, make coffee, tea, everything

we just don't fill it in a glas and drink it
and, mind you, it is of perfect quality (and chlorine free)

As long as there's bubble, then there's no trouble.

If it turns out flat, then I'm not down with that.
