Haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if this has been brought up (but Search didn't find it):

In Weretouched: Snake, you have: "The best type of build to create when building a Weretouched mouse is probably a Strength based area control defender build, which focuses on attacks of opportunity and trip attacks.".

I made use of the copy and paste function a lot. It should say snake instead if mouse, but the rest should be correct. I'll make sure to fix that in my next edit.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Finally got to read the rest of the thread.

I just have to say, that after all I've read about Oozemorph, at this point it's still a really sloppy archetype . . . .

After doing a lot of theorycrafting and DPR calculations, I have begun revising the Aspects section of the guide. I still plan to revise the bat, bear, and wolverine aspects. After that, I plan to reexamine the weretouched aspects. Feel free to critique my changes to the aspect section so far.

I saw that the Handbook was recently updated with a surprising new archetype. Where did Paizo publish the Adaptive Shifter?

It is in the Campaign Setting book Distant Realms, which became available as a PDF today.

The index at the beginning doesn't list Adaptive Shifter yet.

This has been fixed. Thank you.

Concerning your writeup on the Adaptive shifter:

According to AoN,
you get 2 Reactive Forms at level 1,
+1 at level 2/4/6/8/10/12/14/16/18, learning all at 20.

You currently claim they learn 2 Reactive Forms at level 1,
+2 at level 2/4/6/8/10/12/14/16/18, learning all at 20.

Furthermore, according to AoN, Stretching Form is not a lasting form - your guide claims it is.

Finally, I disagree with your rating of Giant Form - Swift action Enlarge Person is very useful at levels 1-5 before you learn wild shape, and I don't see too many alternative low-level options that would make one regret learning Giant Form.

Other than these details, Thanks a ton for writing your guide!

Hey as a personal project I did up a Adaptive Shifter class and class table that presents the shifter and and the adaptive shifter archetype combined together so people (myself especially) don't have to refer to the original shifter and the splatbook. They can just read this version instead of looking up multiple sources.

Adaptive Shifter Class

I'm surprised that Adopted + Tusked is not on the Traits section. It's a very old combo.

In the feat section, there's something called "Weapon Shift". However, I can't find this anywhere online. Where is this feat from?

Wilderness Origins, the most recent player's companion.

I definitely want to try a shifter that uses weapon shift to get reach, and then chimeric adept to gain the minor mantis aspect to get even more reach. Would allow a different combat strategy than "pounce" I hope.

Ah, that would explain why it's not online yet. Thanks!

Hey, I know I'm really late to the party here, but I think a Scroll of Mage Armor would be a great addition to the Equipment section. If you can get your arcane caster buddy to cast it on you, you'll get +4 AC even when in animal form, since Mage Armor can be cast on anything, even animals. And since it isn't equipment, it doesn't merge with your form and stop working when you shift.
