Liberty's Edge

I've got a level 1 natural attack tengu inquisitor that I want to build into a sneak-attacker with good (and deceptive) social skills. Out of combat utility is important to me, and as a PFS player I can't necessarily count on other players being willing and able to flank with me.

I've looked at the unchained rogue, ninja, and slayer, but I think that I'd rather play either:

1) Warpriest of the Cult Leader archetype, using blinding spells and then eventually Quickened and Greater dirty tricks from level 7 to get my sneak attacks. At level 11 can use Travel domain to teleport into flank, or swift action Trickery domain Greater Invis. Seems a little weak on the skill side, but very combat-effective, and a prepared caster with access to the full cleric spell list is always useful.

2) Vigilante Stalker using Cunning Feint from level 5, Fantastic Stride version of spring attack to qualify for Circling Mongoose for hidden strike from level 9. (The Teisatsu would be perfect, but its not PFS-legal.) The dual identity seems a bit complicated to maintain in PFS play, but I could probably ignore it most of the time.

Does anyone have any advice, based on your own experience of the two classes, about what would work better, or any particular feats, talents, etc that I should look into or avoid?

The warpriest may work better with inquisitor as they both use wisdom for spellcasting. Worxhipping Apsu or Dhak (if the latter is PFS legal) could also be a good idea as their favored weapon, which helps your natural attack strategy.

Also, what inquisition are you using on your inquisitor level?

The character's deity is too important to the character concept to change for practical reasons, but that is a great optimization tip!

Travel domain if going into warpriest, conversion inquisition if headed into vigilante.

I would ditch sneak attack and go with the Investigator. Great skills, and Studied Combat with Studied Strike is much more reliable, but sneak attack like. Plus it's got extracts for utility.

Liberty's Edge

I've already got an investigator in PFS. Great class, love it to bits, but I'm looking for a different style with this character. THank you for the suggestion!

I'd just carry on with the inquisitor and go with the Sanctified Slayer archetype. Inquisitor's are pretty solid at skills already, and spells add even more to your utility. The only thing it doesn't have that you want is a way to ensure your sneak attack (other than Greater Invis at 10), but with Bane you honestly won't need it. It'll be a nice boost when you can get it, but you'll do fine if you can't get a flank. From my experience in PFS they'll be someone to flank with most of the time anyway.

Slayer with the Deceptive combat style gets you improved and greater feint without needing to take combat expertise. Since you don't want to dump charisma, you can be an excellent Bluffer and Intimidator as well since Studied target boosts both.

The Slayer talent Blood Reader can be a real game changer depending on the level of intrigue in the game. Being able to get people's hit point total can give you an estimated level, which means you can identify who in the crowd is the high level threat/person you need to talk to.

Sanctified slayer plus rogue VMC nets you 9d6 sneak in the end I believe. Accomplished sneak attacker will get you to 10d6, but you'll be profoundly feat starved, especially if you go dex and need the weapon finesse tax.

All in all a fun way to play. Human would be better (20% increase in number of feats) But tengu is strong for the bite attack too. (Weak ass bite attacks become good with a sneak)

I'm working up a gnome Stygian Slayer and I like how their special abilities (Invisibility at 4th level, Illusion spells at 7th, and Shadowy Mist Form at 10th. They have a watered down sneak attack damage, but they have a full BAB and d10 HP. Plus, with access to both Ranger fighting styles and Rogue talents, in addition to Slayer talents + feats, you could craft a pretty deadly sneak with that archetype. I haven't gotten to play my gnome yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

Sounds like you want a sanctified slayer inquisitor for the sneak attack and you want the conversion inquisition to swap cha for wis for the social skills. Id recommend taking dirty fighting so you dont need to worry about stats for combat expertise to go down the feinting tree.
