No I've just been reading a lot of comics lately and I want a place to go OH That is cool and fun! positive or neutral posts only yo!

Unbeatable squirrel girl series. Adorable. I actively look for other cameos with her now. Which also turn out to be adorable.

Infinity
Interesting and focused on some character I'm less familiar with. Cool over arching story but all the big multiple comic series are a little hard to follow since you have to go from different series of comics to comic. I think its a clever trick to get you hooked on different comic books lines at once. Very devious I think doom maybe responsible.

Reading All New Wolverine (2016) tonight. Starring x-23 Its pretty good . I particularly like Gabby. It has my sense of humor but still violent and psychological like a good wolverine comic.

I will also accept reading recommendations here as well.

Reading iron-man now particularly Iron heart (yeah I'm catching up with the millennial superheros.) I have to hand it to anyone who can single handedly become sovereign queen of latveria in a single afternoon.

I'm just reading up on Batwoman and Batwoman #6 was a major OMG that's cool moment for me. It's an dystopian future where Gotham has become a police state controlled by Batman (not the original one though) and an elderly Kate has to go Dark Knight on the city. Tynion and Bennet kill it with this issue and I can't wait to see the crossover to follow out from that issue.

P.S. totally agree on All-New Wolverine. So far, basically every issue of that series contained several OMG that's cool moments. And a lot of them where caused by Gabby :D

P.P.S. And while I'm at it, I'll ad the cover from Batwoman #7 to the list. It's been a while that I've seen Scarevrow depictures in such a creepy way. kudos to cover artist Ben Oliver.

OMG! People still call them comic books!! What happened to graphic novels? :-)

The Exchange

Well, to me, there's a difference between those. ;)

Graphic novels are what cool, educated, smart and good people read. :)

I just consider the large ones graphic novels while the thin flimsy one are comic books.

Yeah Gabby is awesome. Honey badger fits her so well.

on to ms. marvel (Kamala Khan) I feel I'm learning things I didn't know from this one. I also feel I can't say to much because of paizo's no politics rule sadly.

I do like her powers its like Mr.fantastic and ant man combined.

Vid,

In what way can't you comment about Ms. Marvel's series? Or even the character? I mean she clearly is a hero.

Gabby's new codename is pretty sweet.

The Resurrection of Jean Grey is still pretty weird...

I wanted to comment on how her solo comic deals with a lot of racism and political figures trying to manipulate people with hate and greed. But I had some more specific areas I wanted to go into and I stopped myself.

on the Resurrection of jean stuff yeah I 've only read the first issue but it is super weird so far.

I think that goes for a lot of modern Marvel comics and is also something that I consider a very cool thing. They really opened the door to a more diverse world with their new heroes and did that by still writing seriously cool stories.

Which is also why I sometimes have to scratch my head when I read things like how much better comcis used to be in former times. It's not that I don't enjoy golden age comics, for example, and I think that they used to pack a lot more content in single issues (also meaning that readers have a lot more reading to do which is totally fine with me), but as far as the quality of writing and the artwork is concerned, there's so much sillyness, bad ideas and outright BS involved, that I subscribe most of such comments to especially bad cases of nostalgiatitis.

Just finished the first storyline of the latest Batman Beyond run and while I'm not too fond of those future based stories, what's not to like about another Joker story?

Hmm sounds like i'm going to have to find that one next.

The first and second storylines in Batman Beyond are good, but I've seen a few better ones too.

Vid,

It's super, SUPER weird seeing dead people and hearing some of them talk backwards like it's the Shining or something.

Anyways, mean time I'll wait for Jim Starlin's last Thanos graphic novel and Gerry's Infinity Quest to see...if anything is left to enjoy.

Been reading through the entire blackest night and brightest day green lantern saga. I think I agree way to much with the red lanterns. Also larfleeze is strangely hilarious. Especially in regards to his feelings on santa.

Also I just got done with korona capturing most of the entities and walker lar atr indigo and hal going after him. What comic am I look for next to continue?

Vid,

For DC? Not sure I have anything post lantern stuff, pre-flashpoint.

Wasn't a fan of flash point. just seemed like a big what if comic. although the take on batman was kind of interesting.

Vid,

I said PRE-Flashpoint, not READ Flashpoint. :p :) But yes.

One thing that has been bugging me is they tend to start a story in one series and finish it in a different series. So I have to bounce around to find the whole thing. DC is really bad about.

Been keeping up with immortal hulk. I find myself anxiously anticipating every issue. One of the best things they've done with him. in a long while anyways.

No question, Vid. Immortal Hulk is probably one of the best Hulk runs in recent memory. It certainly deserves a lot of props for turning the rage monster into a horror monster.

Domino and Runaways are my two favorite comics out there, right now.

Both are far more character driven, than anything else, and pretty far away from any of the events currently taking place in the rest of the Marvel universe. I consider this a plus.

Set,

I like Domino, but I honestly am going to enjoy her team book more.

Runaways was feeling pretty decent, but they've done some things I didn't much care for. So...yeah. Immortal Hulk is where it's at for me.

Avengers (2018) chapter 13 with the original iron fist.. quoting the rock! or was the rock really quoting her?

Who knows? Like the man says "It doesn't matter what your name is!"

Latest marvel knights. yeah no gold dragon is going to get in our way. OOOHHH that gold dragon....*gulp*

So was anyone else irritated by how easily some of the most powerful beings in the marvel universe was taken by surprise and taken down in the new guardians of the galaxy run. Like the punisher ghost rider guy alone should of been able to easily handle the situation IMO.

Vid,

With regards to Marvel Knights, yeah I was a bit taken aback by who the dragon actually was...but it made sense after I thought about it.

As for the new Guardians...I'd assume that because the villains (especially The Black Order) knew there might be resistance to them doing what they did, they'd come prepared.

Yeah I just wanted to believe that people like super gladiator and silver surfer could handle a little surprise attack. Also isn't the ghost rider like more powerful then Galactus or close to it? Eh I guess a celestial head moving at faster then light speed is a good start but the chitari or whatever alien they threw at them shouldn't of even been a hindrance.

IS it just me or did every single marvel comic release have wolverine in this month? (not that I'm complaining)

Marvel knows where their bread is buttered. Which is why I have not read a marvel comic in some time.

Vid,

I dunno about this month...but certainly they had more Wolverine this week than in previous weeks. I mean Uncanny X-men (Logan and Scott), Return of Wolverine, and Infinity Watch. (Old Man Phoenix and regular Wolverine.) Oh less we forget, Hulk-verines! Sheesh.

Most of them were good too. Kind of interested in hulk-verines even though I think the weapon-H character is a bit silly.

Hulk-verine is vaguely funny, in the sense that he makes me grin when I think of all the other inevitable mashups, like Spider-verine (claws that shoot sharp metal webbing!) and Thor-verine (electrified uru claws!) and Iron Wolverine (a suit of Iron Man armor with claws!).

I think they just did a set of those for their inifniy war event. capt america and doc strange, Iron man and Thor, spider man and moon knight etc.

Yeah Vid's right, Set. Infinity Warps did mash up existing Marvel characters. But as far as I know, they only mashed up Wolverine with Emma Frost.

Which was totally one of the weirdest ones. right next to the x-23/scarlet witch and honey badger/quick silver mash up.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The mash up things are cool to play around with in special events. I'm less interested in seeing them become regular characters.

I feel the entire Infinity War thing was weird and under and over done at points.

But at least it's got us to see Old Man Phoenix do the time warp stuff.

Just me or does the wolverine infinity watch comic just keep getting weirder and weirder?..

Compared to what Vid? I mean I understand it's not typical Wolverine fare. In some cases, it's not even typical Infinity Stones fare. But at the same time...I think it's something that might become relevant later on. I mean look at Nextwave! ;)

Lol I was just thinking about how the ghost dog ran off to get the magic bat to save wolverine, While loki Escorts one of the bird guy's mom to talk some sense into him.

Vid,

Hey now! Bats is my new favorite Doctor Strange import! Also while it is weird to see Loki escort Robbie and Richie Mom into the middle of warzone, it's still what Loki would do.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Bats is a good doggo.

Bats is the best doggo around next to Cosmo.

Thori is the best murder doggo though.
