Will Adventure Path items ever be reprinted?

General Discussion

Will the items and creatures released in APs ever find its way into a more "crunch-focused book"? I have no real interest in using pre-published adventures, but do want to have new items and races to play with. Unfortunately, I have a hard time justifying a $15 purchase when I'm going to use only a few pages. Will these options be reprinted in hardcovers eventually? Or be part of the official SRD?

If Paizo handles Starfinder like Pathfinder, the equipment, class options, creatures, and setting info in the back of APs will probably get into a hardcover eventually, and they should get up on the SRD sometime between now and the end of time.

They might not do that, however, because SF has a much lighter publishing schedule than PF, and they my not be able to afford space to reprint material. After all, the new gear etc. is one of the selling points of the APs. We'll know for sure in July, when Starfinder Armory comes out, right after the Dead Suns AP wraps up.

I've never seen new gear, monsters, and such as a "selling point" of the AP. In fact, as a consumer, a player, and a GM, I find it annoying...

It's frustrating for me because I'm forced to buy a lot I don't want in order to get a few things I do want. It's like having to buy a whole car when all I want are some spare parts.

With Magic or other TCGs, if there's a single card you want from a preconstructed set, you can usually find a website selling singles. I've yet to find anyone who sells RPG supplements by the chapter.

On the other hand, you can't really expect a car manufacturer to use the same parts in every car they build.

I don't see them selling the line based on the new equipment only available therein - they sell it for the story arc. I can't really begrudge them using a new toy or two in the telling.

Some of us have a very opposite reaction from yours.

From what I understand, part of the design is to have extra crunch in APs as a sort of analog to pathfinder's companion line.

Who knows if they'll be reprinted. As for online, the official SRD still doesn't exist yet. I think open gaming store has an SRD, but it's in a pretty sorry state right now too.

IMO, this is part of Paizo's market strategy: don't release too many product lines at once, until verifying that there is enough sustainable demand to support the extra staff/payments to contributing authors, printing and shipping costs, etc.

The Pathfinder adventure paths followed a similar route when starting out. It wasn't until the second or third adventure paths that they rolled out the Chronicles/Campaign Setting line, for instance, and started moving some of the (additional) setting content from the adventure paths to a separate product.
