Custom Built class Advice.

Homebrew and House Rules

Hello! I am looking for some input on a custom class I have made. this is just a bare bones description of the class and does not include any actual stats or numbers! I can go into detail if wanted but for now I just wanted to tell the community about my concept and hear how Other DM/Gm's would feel about it in their world and how their NPC's (or even some PC's) might react to it!

so... thanks for looking... Here it is!

Blood Former
Many forms of Arcane power show in individuals  in many different ways, some announce themselves in extravagant displays revealing its power, some granted at birth, some through hard study and concentration, some from gods some from tragedy, some from bloodline and birthright. But in a blood former it resides past the surface past the mind past bloodline and is hidden deep deep in the very blood of the bloodformer.
The Blood Formers arcana lies deep within their blood and may go unnoticed their whole life. But for the very rare very lucky few who discover they have this power become power forces to be reckoned with. The Blood Former may find his ability in the heat of battle, or a back alley scuffle. Regardless of how it happens the result is the same. metal pierces flesh stabbed deep into the host. then A weapon is formed from the blood of the hosts gushing wound.
The Blood Former has the ability to use the Arcane rooted deep in them make weapons out of their own blood which grow with them as they do.

Okay fantasy version out of the way here is the explanation of the class in Human language.
The blood former can cut themselves open or use a pre existing wound to extract blood from themselves and make a weapon (Or maybe arcane runes too but we will just stick with weapons for now) the weapon made costs a certain ammount of HP depending on the type of weapon weapon made, size of weapon made, and qualities given to weapons. At first level the weapons function and have the same qualities as the base level weapon and can gain additional benefits as the Blood Former levels up (Like stronger hit dies and attack bonuses as well as elemental effects, or special qualities, like silver or cold iron.)

It sounds like it would be an archetype for the soul knife (Ultimate Psionics) or a magus archetype. It's not big enough of a concept to warrant a whole class.

I agree with Cyrad. The concept as you explained it seems better suited to an archetype rather than a class.

If you wanted this to become a class, it would need to be more fleshed out and differentiated from existing classes. What roles can a Blood Former fulfill in a party? What skills and abilities set them apart from other classes and class archetypes (aside from the foundational one)? Which ability scores does this class rely on to function well in its defined roles?

This reminds me of Deadman Wonderland. Is that the inspiration?

Also, their is a 3rd Party Kineticist element: viscera. They use flesh and blood and bone. You might find some inspiration there. I think it is Kineticists of Porphyra, Vol. 1. Plus, kineticists already use their HP as a resource, so this could easily be a Kineticist archetype.

The other two make a good point, but you only gave us a brief idea concept, so you might have a robust enough idea to create a whole class.
