Starknife Thrower / Melee idea, would this work?

Rules Questions

So... Odd idea that popped into my head...

20 point buy - Starting Stats - Human

Str 13
Dex 14
Con 12
Int 10
Wis 10
Cha 18

-----
Worshiper of Desna

Monk (Scaled Fist) X (7 in this case) / Fighter 4 (Weapon Master)

Level 1 - Unchained Monk (Scaled Fist)

Human Feat: Divine Fighting Style - Desna's Shooting Star
Monk Feat: Deflect Arrows
Level 1 Feat: Weapon Focus (Starknife)

Level 2-5 - Fighter (Weapon Master: Starknife)
2. Bonus Feat: Ascetic Style (Starknife) - Now you can flurry with it.
3. Level 3 Feat: Point Blank Shot (Feat Tax)
Bonus Feat: Startoss Style
4. Nothing (sad face)
5. Level 5 Feat: Power Attack
Bonus Feat: Advanced Weapon Training: Defensive Weapon Training

Level 6-12 - Unchained Monk (Scaled Fist)
6. Bonus Feat (Monk): Dodge
7. Ascetic Form
9. Startoss Comet
10. Bonus Feat (Monk): Mobility
11. Startoss Shower

So.. In the end... Assuming a +4 Charisma Item, +2 Dex Item, and assuming you have bumped your Charisma up every level you could (2 times so far) and assuming a +2 weapon you'll have:

Str 13
Dex 16
Con 12
Int 10
Wis 10
Cha 24

BAB +11

Attack with Starknife: +22 (+20 with Power Attack)
Full/Flurry Attack: +22/+22/+17 (+20/+20/+15 with Power Attack)

Your melee starknife damage will be: 1d4 +7(Cha) +6(Startoss x 3) +6(Power Attack) +2(Weapon Enhance) +1(Weapon Training)

aka: 1d4+22 (avg damage is 24-26, very consistent either way (23-26)) - Assuming all 3 attacks hit you're doing 75-84 damage.

AC 24 (Assuming no bracers of defense, rings of protection, amulets of natural armor etc...) (10 +3(Dex) +7(Cha) +2(Defensive Weapon Training) +1(Dodge) +1(Monk)

AC 26 is most likely...

So... Thoughts? Thinking for maybe a PFS character, just something interesting and unique.

For Ascetic Style, you have to choose a weapon in the "Monk" weapon group from the Fighter. Starknives aren't in that group. There are ways to get it into that group, like Versatile Design, but thats gonna cost 500+gp and push the starknife into needing Exotic Weapon Proficiency.

There is the Weapon Adept feat that allows you to use the starknife with a 'normal' proficiency with the mod so you can use the tattoo trait.

That works too. Either way you're going to need to spend an extra feat and some gold to do it. I notice you also don't have Precise Shot in there anywhere. I'd probably delay the Startoss feats so you can get Weapon Adept or Exotic Weapon Proficiency (whichever one seems more convenient), and Precise Shot.

For extra goofyness, and depending on how its ruled, you could also potentially get a Large size Starknife (making it a one-handed weapon instead of Light) and two-hand it for more damage.

I'm a swashbuckler/warpriest
Helps out with the feats, Rapid shot gets me the Flurry like capability. Starry Grace gets Dex to damage and the rest is just picking the order.

Importantly I get both the scaling damage dice and the enjoyment of adding a riposte in the same round I 'accidentally' provoke by throwing in melee. I'm 8th level and just starting to invest in the Startoss style feats mostly just to keep adding static damage. The need for a blink back belt helps keep the power level just this side of completely cheesey.

I feel like you're in "ask your GM" territory regarding the alignment issue. Specifically whether you can worship a CG goddess while still being lawful (some people ask for "within one step" even if you're not a divine spellcaster), and whether we're using the WMH or the DA versions of Divine Fighting Technique, the former of which would require you to be a CG monk.

So what was your plan for alignment, or do you know for sure that's not going to be an issue where you're playing this?

Can you use Divine fighting style, Startoss style and Ascetic style all at the same time?

Divine Fighting Style is not a "style" feat despite the name, so it works with any other style. Startoss and Ascetic Style can be combined with Martial Focus + Weapon Style Mastery.

You're going to need either Weapon Adept (Versatile Design), or Modified Weapon Proficiency (Starknife), or Exotic Weapon Proficiency to use Ascetic Style with Starknives though, since:

Quote:
A character proficient with a specific weapon (such as a cleric’s proficiency with her deity’s favored weapon) is not automatically proficient with a modified weapon of that type

So Varisian Tattoo will not grant you proficiency in modified starknives.

So the above build is missing like three prerequisite feats.

PFS - Additional Resources wrote:
Feats: All feats in the book are legal for play with the following exceptions: Ascetic Form, Ascetic Strike, Ascetic Style, ...

Might want to reconsider feat choices slightly.
