Command Word range

Rules Questions

So I'm trying to find the range on activating an item with a command word, and I can't seem to find any mention of a range. I'm taking a campfire bead with my barbarian Ifrit, but I was thinking in addition to a fires domestic uses, I could use it as a trap. Place it beforehand, and ready an action for when an enemy goes through that square, speak the command word, and have it ignite, burning the unfortunate soul that walks through.

Does anyone know where the range of a spoken command word is listed? I couldn't find it in the Core rulebook?

If it's not listed, I was thinking 30ft in combat, or 90 feet if it's quiet.

Slotless items need to be held or carried to function.

You gotta hold it. No remote access.

You should probably be glad, too, 'cause if someone else says it, you might be in for a world of hurt.

I am more then okay with these rulings, but where does it say that it has to be held/carried?

If someone else says it, I'm not worried. This character is designed to walk in the fire, an Ifrit Barbarian with a Fire-Forged-Steel Longsword and Fire-forged-steel agile breastplate. He wants to immolate himself in battle, the main reason for carrying the bead is to light himself on fire. I was thinking of secondary uses for it as well.

Slot: Most magic items can only be utilized if worn or wielded in their proper slots. If the item is stowed or placed elsewhere, it does not function. If the slot lists "none," the item must be held or otherwise carried to function.

Ah thank you very much.
