Classic Alignment Arguments

Advice

Sovereign Court

Hi all, I am preparing for a comedy show and I have a question for the group: What are some of your favorite alignment dilemmas? like, the classic
"Should you kill Orc babies?"
I want your most outlandish takes.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

"If a Paladin pushes an innocent man off a cliff, does he fall?"

You should kill all babies. One, those little buggers are always plotting against you. Two, they're delicious!

My most outlandish takes aren't appropriate for this forum. : D Suffice it to say that any action can be argued as morally justified in sufficiently contrived circumstances.

The party is in a network of tunnels and they are aware that there is a necromancer in the area.

DM (ME): You see a man walking down the tunnels, he's wearing robes and has a bedraggled look about him. He notices you and greets you pleasantly. "hello, fellow travelers what brings you here?"

LG Monk: "I carefully approach and make small talk, once I'm in striking range I tackle him and pin him to the ground!"

DM (ME): um, ok that doesn't seem very honorable he appears to be unarmed.

LG Monk: "what are you talking about? it's very honorable, I didn't kill him. Now I force him to tell me what I want to know"

Though to be fair the only character in that group to not resort to brutality and torture was the TN rogue, everyone else had a good alignment......

If you let someone die from neglect, is that evil?

Of course we should spare the orc babies. We can take them into our society where they will be indoctrinated and become second class citizens subject to continual racism and prejudice. Not to mention such a backstory almost guarantees a future of adventuring which statistically will lead to a much more violent and painful death
